Moates, born in Washington Co., near Hagerstown in 1813. He married Catherine Ridenour in 1833. She died by way of a scalding and he married Catherine _each. In the family Bible it is hard to tell if the first letter is a T,P,Y,or L. They eventually moved on to settle in Whiteside Co., IL, where they are buried.
