KLAPHAKE, LIGGETT, WEIR, PATTISON, DEMNYAN, RALSTON, DEGRAVE Mrs. Victoria M. KLAPHAKE, 87, of Cecil, died Tuesday, January 3, 1984, in her home. A daughter of William and Victoria BENZ FRIES, she was born May 31, 1896, in Pittsburgh. Surviving are three sons, Edward KLAPHAKE of Carrick, William KLAPHAKE of Cecil, and James KLAPHAKE of Whitehall; three daughters, Alice KLAPHAKE of Santa Rosa, Calif., Mrs. George (Josepha) SWEGMAN of Library, and Mrs. Alan (Carol) CHESLIEGH of Ingram; 21 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Edward C. KLAPHAKE, two sons, Leon and Albert, and a brother, William FRIES, are deceased. Mass of Christian burial was held the morning of January 5 in St. Mary's R. C. Church, Cecil, in charge of the Rev. John O. GRIFFITH. Burial was in St. Michael cemetery, Pittsburgh. Mrs. Violet LIGGETT, 71, of R. D. 4, McDonald, died Friday, January 6, 1984, in the Washington Extended Care Facility. She was born March 4, 1912, in West Virginia. Surviving are a son, Donald LIGGETT of Beauford, S. C.; two daughters, Marcedes (sic)STROOP of R. D. 4, McDonald, and Gwen FOSTER of Lawton, Okla.; a brother, Ernest JOHNSON; two sisters, Rachael DOURLAIN of Bridgeville and Helen OWENS of Jacksonville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday morning in the Thomas and Little funeral home, Midway, in charge of the Pastor MCROBERTS of the Free Methodist Church, Washington. Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery. Mrs. Mayme F. WEIR, 94, a native of McDonald, died Tuesday, December 27, 1983, in a convalescent home in LaMesa, Calif. A daughter of the late Cyrus and Mary SMITH FERGUSON, she was born November 15, 1889, in McDonald. Her husband, James J. WEIR, a journalist, died in 1945. Mrs. WEIR was a life member of Eastern Star Chapter No. 119, McDonald, and a former member of the McDonald Woman's Club of McDonald. She was also an honorary member of the P. B. X. Telecommunicators. She is survived by three daughters, Dr. Mary Jean WEIR and Bobbie C. WEIR of LaMesa, Calif., and Margaret, the wife of Alex SMALL of R. D. 4, McDonald; a son, James F. WEIR of Escandido, Calif., five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services and an Eastern Star service were held January 3 in San Diego, Calif., in charge of James BRACKMAN of the First Presbyterian Church of San Diego. Burial was in Greenwood Memorial Park, San Diego. William A. PATTISON, 83, of Clinton, died Thursday, January 5, 1984, in the Ohio Valley hospital. A son of the late Joseph and Anne JOHNSON PATTISON, he was born August 19, 1901, in Canonsburg. Mr. PATTISON was a member of Oakdale Lodge No. 669, F. & A. M. Surviving are his wife, Raymonde (sic) (Rae) THIBON PATTISON; two daughters, Shirley FAVAND of Oakdale and Carol PATTISON of Clinton; and two grandchildren, Kenneth and Laura FAVAND. Funeral services were held Monday morning in the Moody funeral home, Clinton, in charge of the Rev. Douglas HOLBEN, pastor of the Clinton U. P. Church. Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery. John DEMNYAN, 89, of Southview, died Monday, January 9, 1984, in his home. He was born June 11, 1894, in Austria-Hungary. A retired coal miner, Mr. DEMNYAN was a member of UMW Local 2026, Westland. He was married to Susan DEMNYAN, who died December 31, 1972. Surviving are two daughters, Edith DEMNYAN and Mrs. Larry (Geraldine) CARTER of Southview; four sons, Andrew DEMNYAN of Midway, Paul DEMNYAN of Primrose, John DEMNYAN of Southview and George DEMNYAN of Canonsburg; 16 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. A son, Andrew DEMNYAN; a daughter, Agnes Marie DEMNYAN, and one great-grandchild are deceased. Friends are being received at the Coleman funeral home, Cecil. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Mrs. Leona Maude RALSTON, 80, of R. D. 1, Aliquippa, a former resident of Joffre, died Monday, January 9, 1984, in the Aliquippa hospital. A daughter of James and Alice EVANS MARTIN, she was born August 15, 1903, in Bulger. She was a former employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad and Providence hospital, Beaver Falls. Surviving are a son, John FURNO of Costonia, Ohio; two daughters, Dorothy, the wife of Fred FISCHER of Aliquippa, and Margaret, the wife of Alfred DELCOURTE of Joffre; a brother, John MARTIN of Irondale, Ohio; two sisters, Laura VIRTUE of Weirton, W. Va., and Edna OTWELL of Steubenville, Ohio; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Her first husband, John FURNEAUX, and her second husband, Earl RALSTON, are deceased. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in Burgettstown in charge of the Rev. Ernie WENGERD. Burial was in Chestnut Ridge cemetery, Florence. Loyal Victor DEGRAVE, 57, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Cecil, died Sunday, January 8, 1984, in Lake City (Fla.) Veteran's hospital. A son of Victor and Laura VERHEST DEGRAVE, he was born August 13, 1926, in Cecil. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Marie WARD DEGRAVE; a son, Robert Ernest DEGRAVE of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Lauretta DEGRAVE HENNAUT of Cecil. Three brothers, Robert, Joseph, and Alexander DEGRAVE, are deceased. Funeral services and burial took place in Florida.
