GRACIE, COWDEN, BOWLAND, ROMANETTI, WEIBLE, HACKINSON, WASIK, FARRELL, WYCK Mrs. Wreatha GRACIE, 84, of Prospect street, Midway, died Tuesday, January 17, 1984, in Presbyterian University hospital, Pittsburgh. A daughter of William and Rebecca ROBERTSON MALICK, she was born June 5, 1899, in Hampshire, W. Va. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Midway. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Rosalie) DIPS and Mrs. Rene (Adine) FREVILLE of Midway, Mrs. Robert (Loretta) GILBERT of Joffre, and Anita GRACIE of Midway; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Her husband, Lewis GRACIE, is deceased. Funeral services were held last Saturday morning in the First Baptist Church, Midway, in charge of the Rev. Clayton BENNETT. Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Freville Funeral Home, Midway. Mrs. Eleanor Mae COWDEN, 64, of R. D. 1, Canonsburg, died Monday, January 23, 1984, in the Washington hospital. A daughter of Harriet K. MORROW BELL of Bridgeville and the late David BELL, she was born November 23, 1919, in Bridgeville. She was a member of the Venice U. P. Church and the Miller's Run Grange. She also had been the secretary for the Canonsburg U. P. Church. Besides her mother, she is survived by a son, David W. COWDEN of R. D. 4, McDonald; a daughter, Bonnie Jean COWDEN, at home; two grandsons, and two sisters, Virginia KAUFMAN of Bridgeville and Helen DUBLIN of Pittsburgh. Her husband, J. Walker COWDEN, died in November, 1983. A brother is also deceased. Friends are being received in the Speakman funeral home, Houston. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Venice U. P. Church in charge of the Rev. W. Robert CALDWELL. Burial will be in Venice cemetery. John A. BOWLAND, 79, of McDonald, died Sunday, January 22, 1984, in his home. A son of George and Agnes WALLACE BOWLAND, he was born May 1, 1904, in Sturgeon. Mr. BOWLAND was a retired coal miner for the Pittsburgh Coal Co. He was a member of Garfield Lodge No. 604, F. & A. M., Pittsburgh Consistory, Syria Shrine, Darius Royal Arch Chapter No. 294, McDonald, Commandary No. 78, Carnegie, and SNPJ Lodge of Midway. He was a social member of F. V. W. Post 567, McDonald. Surviving are four sons, Charles A. and Jack L. BOWMAN of McDonald, and Richard L. and Johnny M. BOWMAN of Burgettstown; five daughters, Valera R. MENKE of McDonald, Betty J. ABBOTT, of Burgettstown, Vivian L. ABBOTT and Pamela L. BOWLAND of Slovan, and Brenda G. CARTER of Canonsburg; two brothers, Gladden BOWLAND of Satellite Beach, Fla., and Kenneth BOWLAND of Butler; two sisters, Gladys HUNTER of Tucson, Ariz., and Wilhelmina MASQUELIER of McDonald; 20 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. His wife, Valera LEARY BOWLAND, died June 1, 1983. A sister, Aida OLIVER, is deceased. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Frank J. Nation Funeral Home, Inc., McDonald, in charge of the Rev. Edward R. DELAIR, pastor of the Trinity Presbyterian church, McDonald. Burial was in Robinson's Run Cemetery. Angelo ROMANETTI, 67, of R. D. 1, Hickory, died Saturday, January 21, 1984, in the Washington hospital. A son of Marco and Lucy GARZONI ROMANETTI, he was born May 27, 1916, in Bridgeville. He had spent most of his life in the Avella area; he was an avid coon hunter and was a member of the Coon Hunters Association. Before retiring in 1979, he worked for 15 years for PennDOT. On December 26, 1953, he married Marie MONTICELLO, who survives, along with a brother, Lee ROMANETTI, of R. D. 1, Hickory, and several nieces and nephews. Five brothers, Raymond ROMANETTI, Lawrence GARZONI, Victor GARZONI, Andrew GARZONI and Anthony GARZONI, and a sister, Margaret MCDONALD, are deceased. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in Avella in charge of the Rev. John E. ADAMS, pastor of the Cross Creek Presbyterian Church. Burial was in West Middletown cemetery. Mrs. Florence D. WEIBLE, 59, of Tyre, died Friday, January 20, 1984, in the Ohio Valley hospital. A daughter of the late Peter and Julia GRECK, she was born April 28, 1924, in Tyre. Surviving are her husband, Frank; a daughter, Juliane FALCONER of Imperial; a son, Frank WEIBLE, Jr., of Imperial; a sister, Janice WOODS of New Jersey; a brother, Peter GRECK of Oakdale; and two grandchildren. A blessing service was held Monday morning in the Thomas and Little funeral home, Imperial, in charge of the Rev. William MILLER. Burial was in St. Columbkille cemetery. Mrs. Margaret HACKINSON, 86, of Van Voorhis, Fallowfield Township, died Tuesday, January 17, 1984, in the Gaffney Personal Care Boarding Home, Scottdale. A daughter of Michael and Eva MULTUNAS, she was born October 25, 1897, in Philadelphia. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William (Margaret) PRICE of Van Voorhis and Mrs. Geuben (Gladys) RING of Hazel Park, Mich., a son, Torrance (Sam) HACKINSON of Van Voorhis; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary BONNETT and Mrs. Paul (Eva) TOULOUSE of McDonald; two brothers, Chester MULTUNAS and Frank MULTUNAS of Sturgeon, and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Chester E. HACKINSON, died December 25, 1973. A son, Arthur HACKINSON, and a grandson, are deceased. Mass of Christian burial was held last Saturday morning in St. Luke's Church, Bentleyville. Burial was in St. Luke's cemetery. Mrs. Josephine Wilma WASIK, 65, of R. D. 2, Avella, died Friday, January 20, 1984, in the emergency room of Washington hospital. A daughter of John and Mary STEMPEL KIRSCHNER, she was born October 18, 1918, in Avella. Mrs. WASIK has spent her entire life in the Avella area and was a member of the Avella Presbyterian Church and the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Bert C. Siders American Legion Post No. 643, Avella. For the past 13 years she had been employed as a cook in the cafeteria at the Avella Area High School. Surviving are two sons, Thomas WASIK of R. D. 4, McDonald and David WASIK of Burgettstown; a daughter, Mrs. Rick (Katherine) TORBOLI of R. D. 2, Avella; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Theodore (Sue) ZATTA of R. D. 3, Avella; three brothers, Edward KIRSCHNER and John KIRSCHNER of R. D. 3, Avella and Harry KIRSCHNER of Weirton, W. Va. In September of 1945, she married Adam WASIK, who died November 6, 1963. A sister, Marie, and two brothers, Charles and William are deceased. Funeral services were held Monday morning in the Avella Presbyterian Church, in charge of the Rev. Robert BELLINGER. Burial was in West Point cemetery, Avella. John Robert FARRELL, 69, of Midway, died Sunday, January 22, 1984, in his home. A son of Paul T. and Florence M. KEARNS FARRELL, he was born December 17, 1914, in Pittsburgh. Mr. FARRELL, a retired draftsman for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, was a member of St. Ann's R. C. Church, Bulger. On September 6, 1941, he married Regina KENNEDY, who survives, along with two sons, Robert K. FARRELL of Pittsburgh and Michael J. FARRELL of Swissvale; two daughters, Patricia Jean JOHNSON of Tulsa, Okla., and Margaret M. FULMER of Washington; two brothers, Richard FARRELL of Scott Township and Donald FARRELL of Pittsburgh; four sisters, Kathryn TYRRELL of Cheswick and Eunice KRELL, Alice PATTON, and Ruth STRAIN, all of Sheraden; and eight grandchildren. Two brothers, Paul and David FARRELL, are deceased. Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday morning in St. Ann's R. C. Church, Bulger, in charge of the Rev. Thomas O'NEIL. Burial was in Resurrection cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Frank J. Nation Funeral Home, Inc., McDonald. Mrs. Catherine WYCK, 88, of R. D. 4, McDonald, died Sunday, January 22, 1984, in the Washington hospital. A daughter of Mr. and Ms. PANKIEWICZ, she was born January 1, 1896, in Austria. She had spent most of her life in the Canonsburg-McDonald area. She was a member of St. John Russian Orthodox Church, Canonsburg. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann GODISH of Canonsburg and Mrs. Steve (Catherine COUPLAND) TOTH of R. D. 4, McDonald; a son, Michael WYCK of R. D. 4, McDonald; a grandson; and two great-granddaughters. Her husband, Nicholas WYCK, died April 8, 1956. A brother, Michael PANKIEWICZ, and a sister, Ann FURIGA, are deceased. A blessing service was held Wednesday morning in Canonsburg in charge of the Rev. Joseph OLEYNIK, pastor of St. John Russian Orthodox Church, Canonsburg. Burial was in Oak Spring cemetery.
