    3. FEDEROFF, WOODS, AIVALOTIS, WATSON, KENDALL, MEGONIGLE, COWDEN Frank FEDEROFF, 78, of McDonald, died Monday, December 26, 1983, in his home. A son of the late Peter and Mary BIRULINA FEDEROFF, he was born June 8, 1905, in Shurubovka, Russia. Mr. FEDEROFF had operated a men's clothing store in McDonald and later retired from Pittsburgh National Bank, where he had worked in the maintenance department for 25 years. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of Holy Virgin Orthodox Church, Carnegie. On September 1, 1946, he married Julia BALKUNOWA who survives, along with five sons, Theodore FEDEROFF of Ohio, Deacon John FEDEROFF of New Jersey, the Rev. Alexander FEDEROFF of San Diego, Calif., Vladimir FEDEROFF of McDonald, and Joseph FEDEROFF, at home; a daughter, Christine GRAZIER of Washington; three sisters, Pauline ILYANKOFF of Pittsburgh, Eva BAILEY of McDonald, and Helen CANNON; and 10 grandchildren. Two brothers, Andrew and Gregory FEDEROFF, and a granddaughter, Theresa, are deceased. Friends are being received at the Frank J. NATION Funeral Home, Inc., McDonald, where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, followed by Divine Liturgy recited in Holy Virgin Orthodox Church, Carnegie, with the Rev. Michael DRAOVITCH officiating. Burial will be in Holy Virgin cemetery, Green Tree. William G. WOODS, 70, of Washington, died Tuesday, December 20, 1983, in the Washington hospital. A son of John and Mary WHITE WOODS, he was born May 31, 1913, in Hickory. Mr. WOODS was self-employed as a carpenter and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Surviving are four sons, William H. WOODS of Cleveland, Ohio, John G. WOODS of Donora, Jerry L. WOODS and Fred J. WOODS of Washington; six daughters, Lillian M. HULL, Mrs. Glenn W. (Shirley) MATHOT, Mrs. Thomas (Alice) HARTER, Mrs. William H. (Dianne) HUGHES, Mrs. John (Nancy) CHRISTMAN, and Mrs. Carmine (Sandy) LASALVIA, all of Washington; two brothers, James F. WOODS and Howard WOODS of Canonsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Alton (Ruth) MCNAIR and Mrs. Lester (Virginia) STEWART of Burgettstown; 22 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Two brothers, Everett WOODS and Charles Paul WOODS are deceased. Funeral services were held the morning of December 22 in Washington in charge of the Rev. Joseph P. TRUNZO. Burial was in Washington cemetery. Nicholas John AIVALOTIS, 70, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Midway, died Monday, December 19, 1983, in the University Park Convalescent Center, Tampa, Fla. Mr. AIVALOTIS retired in 1978 from a steel fabricating plant in Cleveland, Ohio, where he worked in the shipping department. He was a member of the U. S. W. A. He serves in the U. S. Navy in World War II and was stationed on a PT boat in the South Pacific. He was also a member of the V. F. W. and the American Legion in Cleveland. Surviving are his mother, Loretta POWELSON AIVALOTIS of Midway; two sons, David of Englewood, Ohio, and Bryan of Virginia Beach, Va.; three daughters, Helen RAYMOR of Manorville, N. Y., Nikki ASTIPALITIS of Wallington, N. J., and Barbara ADAMS of Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, Robert of Midway, Harry of Wheeling, W. Va., and Jack of McDonald; two sisters, Gladys HAMPSON of Burgettstown and Dorothy MCCARTNEY of Carnegie; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held the morning of December 22 in the Frank J. Nation Funeral Home, Inc., McDonald, in charge of the Rev. Edward R. DELAIR, pastor of the Trinity Presbyterian Church, McDonald. Burial was in Center cemetery, Midway. Mrs. Myrtle J. WATSON, 75, of Jackson, N. J., died Friday, December 23, 1983, in the Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, N. J. A daughter of Vern L. and Lillian BLOOM CROSS, she was born April 24, 1908, in Clearfield County. She had resided in Pittsburgh for 25 years before moving to Jackson 11 years ago. Surviving are her husband, James A. WATSON; three sons, William A. HAAS of Sacramento, Calif., Frank L. HAAS of Charlotte, N. C., and John L. HAAS of Lakewood; four brothers, Leslie, Elmer, and Gerald D. CROSS, all of McDonald, and Scott T. CROSS of Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy CAMPBELL of Carnegie and Mrs. Geraldine BLOOM of New Millport; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mary E. KENDALL, 63, of McDonald, died Wednesday, December 21, 1983, in the Washington hospital. A daughter of Frank and Bertha CLOSE SAWHILL, she was born July 2, 1920, in McDonald. She was employed as a beautician and also worked for a time at Woodville State hospital. In 1941, she married Clarence "Roger" KENDALL, who survives along with three brothers, Edward SAWHILL of Midway, Samuel SAWHILL of Joffre, and Donald SAWHILL of DuBois; and three sisters, Ruth BAIN of Midway, Gertrude MOTTE of Bulger, and Margaret DEHOUX of Azusa, Calif. A brother, Charles and two sisters, Hazel and Mae, are deceased. Funeral services were held last Friday morning in the Frank J. Nation Funeral Home, Inc., McDonald, in charge of the Rev. D. K. LARSEN, pastor of the First U. M. Church, McDonald. Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery. Gaile W. MEGONIGLE, 82, of McDonald, died Monday, December 12, 1983, in the Washington hospital. A son of the late Samuel S. and Jemina MCBRIDE MEGONIGLE, he was born September 13, 1901, in Independence, Iowa. Surviving are his wife, Delilah CAMERON MEGONIGLE; a son, Carl of Philadelphia; three brothers, a sister, and two grandchildren. Graveside services were held the morning of December 17, in charge of the Rev. Robert MCGILL, pastor of the Independent Bible Presbyterian Church, McDonald. Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by the Thomas and Little Funeral Home, McDonald. Thomas Kyle COWDEN, 75, of Arlington, Va., died Sunday, December 18, 1983, in his home. A son of John M. and Nettie MITCHELL COWDEN, he was born June 14, 1908, in Hickory. Before retiring, he served as assistant Secretary of Agriculture under Earl BUTZ. He was the commencement speaker at Hickory High School in 1959, before the school became part of the Fort Cherry School District. His wife, Clara WILLIAMS COWDEN, survives, along with a son, Dr. John COWDEN of Bloomington, Mich.; a daughter, Jean COWDEN of Madison, Wisc.; a brother, Joseph M. COWDEN of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Margaret SNOOK of Manhasset, N. Y.; seven grandchildren. A brother, John R. COWDEN, and a sister Martha HARRIS, died in 1982. Services were held December 21 in Arlington, Va. Interment took place last Friday morning in Centralia, Ill.
