DELPIERE, WARD, FLETCHER, ORAVETZ, MARENCEL, BARNES, NAPOLITANO Mrs. Loretta SMITH DELPIERE, 51, of McDonald, died Sunday, January 29, 1984, in the Scott Regional Center, Scott Township. A daughter of Anna Mae BRUCE SMITH of McDonald and the late Harry M. SMITH, she was born June 5, 1932, in Cecil. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, McDonald. On September 5, 1969, she married Arthur R. DELPIERE, who died April (?8), 1980. Surviving are a brother, Raymond B. SMITH, Sr., of McDonald, and three sisters, Geraldine WALKER and Barbara MILLER of McDonald, and Alice LINKO of Green Tree. Three brothers, Harry, Kenneth and Robert SMITH are deceased. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning in the Frank J. Nation Funeral Home, Inc., McDonald, in charge of the rev. Larry POTTS, pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, McDonald. Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery. George H. WARD, 73, of R. D. 2, Avella, died Friday, January 27, 1984, in the Washington hospital. A son of James and Viola YATES WARD, he was born November 4, 1910, in Dinsmore. He had resided in the Avella area for the past 37 years. Mr. WARD had been employed as a coal miner for 22 years. Prior to his retirement in 1973, he had been a steel worker at J & L Steel Corp. for 22 years. He was a Cross Creek Township constable for 20 years and was a member of the UMWA, the United Steel Workers Local 1211, and the Washington County Constables Association. On December 24, 1936, in Wellsburg, W. Va., he married Bertha FRESHWATER, who survives, along with nine sons, George WARD, Jr., and Fred WARD of Langeloth, James WARD of McDonald, William WARD of Carmichaels, Gerry WARD and Henry J. WARD of R. D. 2, Avella, Kenneth WARD of Houston, David WARD of Bavington, and Thomas WARD of Greenbelt, Md.; two daughters, Shirley of Bladensburg, Md., and Cleo of McDonald; a brother, John WARD of DeLand, Fla.; and a sister, Mrs. James (Beatrice) PACE of Langeloth. A son, Wayne, three sisters, and a brother are deceased. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Avella in charge of the Rev. Robert BELLINGER. Burial was in West Point cemetery, Avella. Mrs. Alice CARTER FLETCHER, 73, of Washington D. C., formerly of McDonald, died Thursday, January 26, 1984, in University Hospital, Washington, D. C. A daughter of Sterling and Mary CARTER, she was born October 3, 1910. Surviving are two daughters, Edith Lee THORNTON of Illinois, and Dora Mae FLETCHER of Washington, D. C.; a son, Dr. Freeman FLETCHER of Cleveland, Ohio; four sisters, Grace THORNTON of McDonald, Velma MARTIN and Nancy WATSON of Washington, D. C., and Mabel HARRIS of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Sterling CARTER, Jr., and Emmett CARTER of McDonald; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in the First Baptist Church, McDonald, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Benjamin SCOTT, Jr., and the Rev. James MCCOY. Burial was in the Robinson's Run Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Thomas and Little funeral home, McDonald. Andrew A. ORAVETZ, 73, of Imperial, a retired superintendent of Duquesne Slag Products Co.'s Aliquippa plant, died Thursday, January 26, 1984, in the Ohio Valley hospital. Mr. ORAVETZ had been employed by Duquesne Slag Products for 40 years, the last 25 as a superintendent. He retired in 1975. Surviving are his wife, Antoinette; seven sons, Andrew and Charles of Imperial, Robert C. of Bethel Park, Paul F. of Ohio, Lawrence E. of Carnegie, John J. of St. Charles, Mo., and David M. of O'Hara; two daughters, Joan LIEBERT and Barbara COATES of imperial; 31 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial was held Monday morning in St. Columbkille R. C. Church, Imperial. Burial was in St. Columbkille cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Thomas and Little Funeral Home, Imperial. Anthony MARENCEL, 68 of McKees Rocks, died Thursday, January 26, 1984, in the Sycamore Creek Nursing Home. A son of Stella and Anthony MARENCEL, he was born February 24, 1915, in McKees Rocks. He is survived by his wife, Julia ROHACH MARENCEL; a daughter, Mrs. Carol BRUCE of McDonald; two brothers, Rudy and John MARENCEL of McDonald; two sisters, Vera REICHL and Stella KOZIMKO of McKees Rocks, and three grandsons. A brother, William, and two sisters, Frances and Catherine, are deceased. Funeral services were held last Saturday in McKees Rocks, in charge of the Rev. Fr. RUSSELL of the Holy Ghost Church, McKees Rocks. Burial was in St. Mark's cemetery. David H. BARNES, 63, of Kissimmee, Fla., formerly of Cecil, died Sunday, January 29, 1984, in Florida. A son of Lee and Margaret LAING BARNES, he was born November 9, 1920, in Cecil. He was self-employed in auto body repair. He was a member of the Northern Baptist Church, Kissimmee. He was married to Ellarose BARNES, who survives, along with three sons, Forrest, Jeffrey, and Gary BARNES; a daughter, Audrey BARNES; three brothers, Clyde BARNES of Sturgeon, Howard BARNES of Pittsburgh, and Robert BARNES of Cecil; three sisters, Helen FORDYCE of Houston, Mabel FASANI of Phoenix, Ariz., and Edna KELLEY of Houston. Two brothers, William and Lee BARNES, are deceased. Funeral services and burial will be in Florida. Bert C. NAPOLITANO, 68, of Washington, formerly of Burgettstown, died Friday, January 27, 1984, in his home. A son of Elio and Marie MOLLO NAPOLITANO, he was born October 9, 1915, in Burgettstown. He was retired and was an avid sportsman. Surviving are his wife, Patsy MCKAHAN NAPOLITANO; two sons, Edward of Lovettesville, Va., and Bert E. of Harpers Ferry, W. Va.; a daughter, Gari GILL in the Philippines; a brother, Atillio of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Jennie TROPECK of McDonald; and five grandchildren; Two sisters, Margaret BROWN and Grace NARDO, are deceased. A blessing service was held Tuesday morning in Burgettstown. Burial was in Grandview cemetery.
