My Deichler family lived in Midway, Washington County, Pennsylvania. Following is an e-mail message that I received from a Dr. Heinen in Germany. Marie (Deichler) Pearce Hallo, James, today I received from France the document of the marriage of your grandparents Joseph Deichler and Marguerite Spingler. They married the 14th december of 1875 at Forbach (Alsace), at nine o'clock in the morning. Joseph Deichler was born the 25th february of 1852 at Lisdorf, Marguerite was born the 28th february of 1859 at Klein-Kosel (? I cannot read it exactly). The young couple lived in Saint-Charles (Alsace). The parents of Joseph were Joseph Deichler (52 years old) and his wife Katharina Dini (?), dead since 3rd of december of 1859. Father Joseph and son Joseph worked in a carbon-mine. The parents of Marguerite were Karl (Xavier?) Spingler, dead since 1st july of 1856 and his wife (two names which I cannot read, and the third name: Katharina) Schoeffer, 39 years old. Present were four testigos: the uncle Anton Singler and three friends.
