    3. RALSTON, MICHENER, MENKE, ANKLEY, CAIN, SIMON, MCCAFFERY, HOMITZ, DENSEN, KEFFER Joseph C. RALSTON, 77, of Tech Road, Pittsburgh, died suddenly on Saturday, October 15, 1983, in his home. A son of Edgar L. and Margaret CANLIN RALSTON, he was born March, 22, 1906, in West Lebanon. He passed his bar examination in 1933 and had practiced law in McDonald for the past 50 years. He was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Presbyterian Church, the Bar Association, and served with the U. S. Navy during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Virginia BROWN RALSTON; two brothers, Dr. Edgar RALSTON of Philadelphia and the Rev. Walter J. RALSTON of Swarthmore; and a sister, Margaret RALSTON, of Cameron, W. Va. Private interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Robinson's Run cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Mt. Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, with the Rev. Miles MACDONALD officiating. Funeral arrangements were by the Frank J. Nation Funeral Home, Inc. Russell A. MICHENER, 66, of Charleroi, died Sunday, October 16, 1983, in his home. A son of Russell G. and Mary HUMPHRIES MICHENER, he was born September 8, 1917, in Charleroi. He was retired from Canonsburg Pottery. Surviving are his wife, Josephine FREVILLE MICHENER; a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Wilda) SANDERS of R. D. 2, Monongahela; and a niece. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Melenyzer funeral home, Charleroi. Burial will be in Robinson's Run cemetery. Mrs. Dolores W. MENKE, 63, of Sturgeon, died Monday, October 17, 1983, in her home. A daughter of Chauncey Island YOHO and Anna Mae PARKES YOHO, she was born June 13, 1920, in McDonald. She owned and operated the Sturgeon Hotel. Surviving are two sons, Louis J. MENKE, Jr., of McDonald and William W. MENKE of Morgan; two daughters, Marry E. SMITH of Sturgeon and Dorothy M. DERAMO of Coraopolis; two sisters, Doris BROWETT of McDonald and Ruth SAVER of Murraysville; and seven grandchildren. Her husband, Louis MENKE, Sr., died in January, 1980. Friends are being received at the Frank J. Nation Funeral Home, Inc., McDonald, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, in charge of the Rev. Robert MCGILL, pastor of the Independent Bible Presbyterian Church, McDonald. Burial will be in Robinson's Run cemetery. Robert E. ANKLEY, 52, of Federal Way, Wash., formerly of R. D. 4, McDonald, died Monday, October 10, 1983, in his home. A son of the late George and Helen MUTH ANKLEY, he was born May 3, 1931, in Pittsburgh. He is survived by his wife, Gretchen PLOTZ ANKLEY; three sons, George E. of Kent, Wash., Lewis R. of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Robert L., at home; a brother, George W. ANKLEY of Burgettstown; a sister, Helen RUFFENNACH of R. D. 4, McDonald; and four grandchildren. Memorial services were held October 13 in Federal Way, Wash. John W. (Jimmy) CAIN, 79, of Aliquippa, formerly of Clinton, died Thursday, October, 13, 1983, in the Aliquippa hospital. A son of George W. and Fannie Shay GROOM CAIN, he was born August 17, 1904, in Clinton. He is survived by his wife, Anna MESSNER CAIN; three daughters, Dolores LOGAN of Clinton, Betty Jean REDDINGER of Aliquippa, and Catherine Anne REDDINGER; a son, Russell Neal CAIN of New Jersey; a brother, Clark CAIN; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held last Saturday morning in the Moody funeral home, Clinton, in charge of the Rev. Robert BRADBURY, pastor of the Raccoon U. P. Church, Candor. Burial was in Hebron cemetery. John SIMON, 76, of R. D. 1, Hickory, died Tuesday, October 11, 1983, in the Canonsburg hospital. A son of John and Mary SIMON, he was born June 16, 1907, in Vesprem, Hungary. A retired coal miner, he was a member of UMW Local 2026 and a social member of American Legion Post 902, Houston. Surviving are a sister, Ann BRINCKO of Canonsburg; a brother, Joseph MOGER of Virginia Beach, Va., and a niece. Funeral services were private. Matthew Ryan MCCAFFREY, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. John MCCAFFREY of North Street, McDonald, died Tuesday, October 11, 1983, in the Magee Women's hospital. Besides his parents, his survived by his twin brother, Michael John; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul PHILLIPS of Canonsburg; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis MCCAFFREY of McDonald, his maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John OLIVERIO of Houston and Mrs. Ethel PHILLIPS of Meadow Lands; and his paternal great-grandparents, Mrs. Margaret MCCAFFREY and Peter PREVADE of Sturgeon. A blessing service was held October 12, in the St. Patrick's R. C. Church, Noblestown, in charge of the Rev. Fr. Francis PUCCI. Barney H. HOMITZ, 72, of Front street, Midway, died Sunday, October 16, 1983, in the Presbyterian University hospital. A son of Joseph and Mary HOMITZ, he was born August 5, 1911, in Bulger. He was a retired steelworker from Universal Cyclops, Bridgeville. He was a member of St. Alphonsus R. C. Church, McDonald and the SNPJ Lodge No. 89 of Midway. Surviving are his wife, Minnie MIHALICH HOMITZ; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Shirley) GOLONKA of Slovan and Mrs. James (Jean) MATALIK of Eldersville; three sons, Barney HOMITZ, Jr., of Bridgeport, W. Va., Raymond HOMITZ of Midway, and Ronald HOMITZ of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Helen HARTLE and Blanche TARHALLA of Elyria, Ohio; a brother, Stanley HOMITZ of Jacksonville, Fla.; and 15 grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday morning in St. Alphonsus R. C. Church, McDonald, in charge of the Rev. Francis PUCCI. Burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes cemetery. Augustus Otto (Augie) DENSEN, 61, of R. D. 2, Canonsburg, died Thursday, October 13, 1983, at home. A son of Otto and Freda DENSEN, he was born June 29, 1922, in Bokel, Germany. He had spent most of his life in the Canonsburg area and was a member of the Labor Temple and the Guntown Rod and Gun Club. He was employed as a machinist for Apex, retiring in 1979. Mr. DENSEN was a World War II veteran, having served with the U. S. Army in the African and European theaters. He was a member of V. F. W. Post 153, Strabane. Surviving are his wife, Anna Marie FUNKA DENSEN; two sons, David Otto DENSEN of R. D. 2, Canonsburg and Donald August DENSEN of Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary Louise) CORSO and Mrs. George (Donna Jean) HARRIS of R. D. 2, Canonsburg; two sisters, Freda GOMBER of R. D. 3, McDonald and Mrs. Donald (Ethel) PREVADE of Oakdale; four granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held last Saturday morning in Canonsburg, in charge of the Rev. Nick PORTOS, pastor of the View Crest Reformed Presbyterian Church of Eighty-Four. Burial was in Chartiers Hill cemetery. Mrs. Irene H. KEFFER, 70, of Clairton, died Monday, October 10, 1983, in the Jefferson Center hospital. A daughter of Joseph and Suzanna CSURILLA REGO, she was born May 13, 1913, in Wickhaven. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy BIGLEY of Rennerdale and Bonnie KEFFER; four sons, Jack REGO, John BERRY, and Fred and Bruce KEFFER; two sisters, Elizabeth DAVIS and Margaret COBB; 20 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held the afternoon of October 13 in the Thomas and Little funeral home, Oakdale, in charge of the Rev. Robert LARIMER, pastor of the Noblestown U. P. Church. Burial was in Olive Branch cemetery, Smithton.
