(Shriner) Green, 69, of Spring City, Tennessee, formerly of Wheeling, West Virginia, died, Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at the Spring City Care Center, Spring City. She was born May 29, 1941, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Paul Andrew Shriner and June Etta (Lambert) Shriner, who preceded her in death. Delores had fought a courageous battle against many elements, but died on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. She was in declining health for many years, but on July 14, 2010 Michael and I (Julie) had to put her on hospice. This was so hard we cried for many hours that day. Delores accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior early in life. She was a member of Community of Christ (RLDS) in Clinton, Mo. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was loved by so many, words can't express the pain we are feeling right now. Delores was married a total of 5 times. She first married James Reed Porterfield on June 14,1962. After divorcing him, she married Michael Mickey Carr in July 15, 1966, who preceded her in death Aug 24, 1988. By this time, she had divorced him and married Johnny Higman on 01 Nov 1982. Johnny died in March of 1988. She then divorced him, and married Harry Edward Green on April 14, 1987, who also preceded her in death on Jan 03, 1994. Later that year on March 02, 1994, she married Harry's brother, Clyde Green, who survives of Windsor. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Michael S. Carr, his wife Julie (Allen) Carr (formerly of Eldon, Mo), and their two kids Michael W. and Stephanie J. Carr all of Cleveland, TN; Another son Paul S. Carr, his wife Kimberly (Heskitt) Carr, and their daughter Cassidy G. Carr all of Chilhowee, MO; A brother, Richard Shriner and his wife Linda and his 2 boys Paul Joseph and Andrew John Shriner all of PA. A sister, Nancy Robertson of PA, Nancy's daughter, Karen Shriner and her 3 boys Justin, Brandon, and Cody all of CA. Nancy's Son, Daryl Shriner, his wife Mary Lou, and his 2 daughters Amanda and Jocelyn Shriner all of PA. A Sister-in-law, Deanna Shriner and her three children, Donald, Debbie, and Deanna Pikeo. Uncle Joseph Shiner of PA and Aunt Sue Procasky of OH. She also has Step-nieces: Patricia Green, Kathryn Long, and Anna Ingram, who were all raised by Harry Green. Several cousins, and friends. I couldn't list all the nurses at Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center , who helped with mom. However, two of which who will never leave our hearts are Tammy and Kevin. I don't think I would have made it through this if it wasn't for them by our side. The guilt of having to put Mom in a nursing home has disappeared as we realized that people like Tammy and Kevin cared and loved Mom everyday and night when we couldn't be there. In the last few weeks, we also had Sally, who was the hospice nurse. She, too, as helped as through this very hard time. In addition to her parents and husbands listed above, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Andrew Shriner, Jr. on March 28, 1996. Graveside services was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 7, at Clinton Memory Gardens Cemetery, Clinton, Mo., with Pastor Kathy Loyd officiating. The family received friends at the cemetery before the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to help with funeral expenses and contributions may be left in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hadley Funeral Home, 405 E. Benton St. Windsor, Mo 65360. Please put Delores Green in the Memo. Condolences may be left online at www.hadleyfuneralhome.com. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
