    1. [PAWASHIN] William Faulkner of Washington County
    2. Am working up background on ggg grandfather, William Faulker (abt 1755-1834), who spent time in Washington County (WCO). After service in Revolutionary War as private, PA Continental Line, Faulkner went to WCO. Have record of him on WCO Tax Roll 1788. See several brief references to tavern ownership/operation and one land sale. Faulkner was commissioned captain in 1792 and left WCO temporarily to raise troops. During absence, rented room to tax official resulting in one of many incidents recorded about Whiskey Rebellion. Faulkner also participated in St. Clair expedition against Miamis in 1791 and served in 3d Sub-Legion under Anthony Wayne. Following service with Wayne, Faulkner made home in Adams County, OH.   Queries: more precise times for arrival and departure WCO, existence of portraits or relevant drawings, representations of home or tavern, land holdings, local marriage or lady friend, occupation, best local relevant and accessible data sources.   Will, of course, share what I learn. Thanks.   Bill Stokes
