Anyone aware of any connections between the VANSCOYOC family and the HILL, ALEXANDER, and MARING families other than what I will mention below? William HILL born 1843 in Monroe County OH (son of William HILL and Mary WRIGHT) married Elizabeth (Lizzie) M. VANSCOYOC (born 1851 Washington County PA) circa 1870-1874. William died in 1874 in Bellaire, Belmont County OH. Elizabeth remarried in 1877 to George W. MARING born 1843 Belmont County OH. I find no marriage record for William HILL in Ohio and he probably married in Washington County PA. I'm trying to discern any previous connections between the two families as I don't know where in PA my HILL family is from and I'm hoping this could be an opportunity for further discovery. I suspected either Washington or Greene Counties but cannot be certain. My William HILL was also associated with Bela ALEXANDER from Belmont County. Bela was born in around 1806 in PA and may have been associated with VANSCOYOCs as there are many Alexanders living adjacent in the 1830 census in Finley, Washington County, PA.
