Smoody, Charles W. (Bill) Smoody, 63, of 107 1/2 Homewood Ave., Belle Vernon , died Tuesday, July 17, 1990 in Sewickley Valley Hospital at 8:20 a.m. He was born in Crucible on Oct 27, 1926, a son of the late John and Helen Nagy Smoody, who both died in 1981. In additon to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Helen Smoody, in 1976 A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon Area, Mr. Smoody had attended Peoples Bible Church of Belle Vernon. He had worked for 38 years for the Standard Slag Company of Aliquippa, formerly the Duquesne Slag Company. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army. He is survived by his wife, Anna Sakalik Smoody; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Sheron) Suppa of Belle Vernon, and Mrs. Dennis (Darlene) Ondrejko of Belle Vernon; a brother Alex Smoody of Louisville, Ky, many nieces and nephews, including Lisa Smoody of Belle Vernon; and four grandchildren.
