Hello, I haven't posted for the last 3 or 4 years and would like to become active again. At the president time, I am the President of the Rostraver Twp Historical Society. RTHS has a new home located in the HISTORIC FELLS METHODIST CHURCH located at 800 Fellsburg Road, in Rostraver with a Belle Vernon, PA. 15012 address. At the present time we are restoring the existing building erected in about 1834 although the original log church was erected in 1789. The Fells Cemetery is located next to the Church. There was an addition built in 1954 for Sunday School with 3 floors. We purchased the deceased files and books of Lloyd Thompson, local historian, and made one room on the second floor a library, a genealogical room, office and a board room. On the third floor are 5 rooms and one is going to display Henry Indof's early mining tools, etc. and possibly and Indian Collection of pictures and memorabilia. The bottom floor is being revamped for a Social Room with kitchen facilities and Toilets. The Sanctuary will be our main meeting room for programs and displays. We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 6 o'clock in the evening with a program scheduled for 7 o'clock. We are anticipating having some one present on Thursday and Friday.
