Judy and list, Forgive me if I have this wrong, but I deleted your emails re Flowers. I thought you were looking for Lizzie Flowers. If so, maybe this will help. If not, sorry if I add any confusion to the situation. I was surfing Mr. Fordyce's birth, death, and marriages site and came across a Lizzie Flowers. Here's the info and the link. I hope it helps. For everyone else, I have found when I'm stuck and don't know what else to do I surf the other counties sites! I may not find the area I'm looking for, but I always end up finding something! Mr. Fordyce has done mega things for Greene County! He personally visited every cemetery there and photographed and logged the tombstones. He created CDs of them (5 in all), and he even picked up a few in neighboring counties! He also created a newspaper obit CD for the RP newspaper. The list goes on and on of his accomplishments. If you haven't visited the Cornerstone site, I'm including that link also. I found that sometimes families published obits + in neighboring counties. Plus, if you're like my family, you'll find relatives in Fayette, Wash, Greene, and Westmoreland! So, it never hurts to check them all! Hi Carole, Lizzie wouldn't belong in *that particular* family, BUT since I don't know the parents or siblings for Samuel Flowers, she could be related. We thought Samuel Flowers came from Greene County, but I have absolutely NO clues for parents' names. So Lists .... if you have a Samuel Flowers in your line, let me know. Mine was a Stage Coach driver from Washington PA to Uniontown PA to Frederick Co MD. He married Mary A. Lane from West Bethlehem Twp, daugh of John Lane Sr and Catherine Baker Lane. Later, they lived in South Strabane Twp, once again right along The National Pike (Rt 40) as was Mary A. Lane's childhood home. By 1876, Samuel Flowers died-- no clues about cause of death. Sam and Mary lived on a farm that had belonged to her brother Daniel. When Daniel's grandson got the property, he lost it during the mini-depression that began in the late 1870s-to-early 1800s. Mary had to move to the City of Washington. A 1879 letter to her sister-in-law shows Mary as a broken woman. 1880 Census shows her as HOH with daug. Caroline Flowers (using maiden name) with Mary's grandchild, last name LASH. So, if this guy fits your Flowers family, let me know. Judy Florian
