Hi Lists, The "1883 Pensioners on the Roll" for Washington PA is on multiple pages starting here: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pawashin/military/pensioners/1883_list_of_pensioners_on_the_roll_1.html The original lists were sorted only by town/residence. Therefore, the names were not in alphabetical order; certificate numbers were not in order of processing. You'll notice I added a descendant column. If anyone is your ancestor, send me your info and I'll add your name to that column. You must tell me if you want me to link your name to your email address. Look on the bottom of every page for links to Sortable Tables for 1883 List of Pensioners on the Roll. It is the same data as above. Click on any header to make the table sort. The contents will *not* return to the original order because of how javascript works. To return to the original table, you will need to exit the page (use back button) and return again to the page (use the forward button) or use F5 to refresh the page. ***The only column not fully sortable is date. It only sorts by month. Maybe later I'll split date and month into 2 columns but for now this will have to do. First sortable page starts here: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pawashin/military/pensioners/1883_list_of_pensioners_on_the_roll_1_sort.html For abbreviations used and more information about pensions: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pawashin/military/pensioners/1883_list_of_pensioners_on_the_roll_abbreviations.html I need people to help with this list: A Study of Known German Baptists (Dunkards) compared to the "1883 List of Pensioners on the Roll" from Washington County PA http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pawashin/military/pensioners/german-baptists_1883_list_of_pensioners_on_the_roll.html You can use Ctrl+F or on-site search as well. Hope these transcriptions help researchers.
