If you have access to Ancestry, there are trees out there that include these individuals. My gg grandmother, Lydia Margaret, was adopted by Frederick and Catharine Weaver Staley. They lived in Bristoria, PA. I tell you this because I've included Staley's in my tree. Lydia Margaret married my gg grandfather, Wesley Hiram Simpson. Back on you.... I have Daniel Staley, born Circa 1802 in PA, and Catharine Hartman, born 14 Aug 1811 in Bucks County, PA, as Samuel's parents. I have Samuel living in Wash County, PA in the 1900 and 1910 census'. I have Michael Staley as Daniel's father. No mother. Michael Staley was also the father of my Frederick who adopted my gg grandmother. I also have Christian, Martha, Peter, and Jacob as Daniel and Frederick's brothers. Hope this helps. Carole Clarke Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Hi All, I also have information similar to Carole Clarke regarding the Staley's in Washington County, PA with some mysteries of my own yet to solve. I am descended from the Michael Staley that Carole mentioned through Daniel Staley via his daughter Mary E. Staley and her daughter Grace Arvella Staley and my mom Ruth Thompson Lesso. I have a few family letters that include two from Frederick Staley written while he and Samuel were in the Civil War. I also have one from their brother John W. Staley who somehow ended up in Iowa at some point. (If anyone knows anything about him, I would be interested.) There were also a couple of other siblings to this family but I don't have access to my records tonight. Frederick, Samuel, Mary E., John W. and Aaron (as mentioned by Carole) had at least one more sister who married and was living in Ohio. I believe that our Samuel Staley never married and may have had some challenges that never let him strike out on his own. Frederick's letters from the Civil war told how he and Samuel were doing and some details about where they had travelled, what they were doing in camp and what may happen next. They were signed with both the brothers names but seem to be written by Frederick so I don't think that Samuel could write. He seemed to live with brothers or sisters from the census records. I have yet another letter that I believe was from Samuel's sister (or her husband) in Ohio (I can't remember his or her name at the moment) which mentioned again how Samuel was doing while living there with them. I need to verify that this family was indeed his sister but it seems that someone was always taking care of Samuel. I am thinking that maybe he and the Samuel in Nebraska are two different people. Feel free to ask more questions or pose more theories. I will have better access to my records late tomorrow.
