If a slave or free black died in Wshington County in the late 1700's or early 1800's - what kind of record would there be? Was there a burial ground in the area that is primarily for the slaves/blacks that early. Appreciate your help.
There is a Slave Register in the Washington County Courthouse. I saw it in the deeds office years ago. I don't know where it is kept now, but check in the Law Library. They should know. Otherwise I guess the tax office might have it. Ellen J.
