Hi all, Just wanted to let my friends know that I will not be able to help out anyone over the summer. I won't be sending any articles/obits or jumping in to help out. I have 3 reunions to prepare for,,, 2 of them I organize. PLUS my durn friend at the local historical society got me involved in a "little" Civil War project. She was very misguided - it is NOT a little project. For our county there is no complete listing of ALL county Veterans of the Civil War. There is a history book of 2 counties, which my county is one of them. I have to research the names and pull our county veterans from the rosters !! And on our county website there is a list of all regiments that our county vets served in. So I have a lot of good leads and I know where all the data that I need is located, plus websites I can utilize. THANK GOODNESS the Mormans have added the new website that gives us free death certificates for Ohio (www.labs.familysearch.org) and marriages and census. This has been a blessing. The goal is to have a complete listing of all the county vets from the CW online at the societies website, and will also include a data base and mini bios for as many as possible. Again, Ruth has stepped in it up to her......... I will be in the background reading postings, and will send a heh to friends . But won't be able to help out anyone at least til mid-August.
