Hi Faithful Listers, I have a couple specific requests about my Norris Family from Washington County. A few of us, who are related, and one who has not found a relationship to us, at this point in time, are working actively on this line in order to accomplish 2 objectives. The first to find a Direct Male Descendant of John Norris, who died in 1782 in North Strabane Twp. who would be willing to take a DNA test to compare with some others who have done the same, to work out a mistake in a published book on the family name & to sort out which is which, back to their proper origin. So far, it appears that more than one genetic line is listed as only one in the volume, and this may very well be in error. At present, we have looked in to 2 of the 4 sons of Charles Norris, son of John. Charles sons John & William have no living male direct descendants, only females. We are currently following the descendants of the son Charles Jr., son of Charles Sr. Specifically, the ones who moved to New Castle, PA - Good material has been gleaned so far, but it occurs to me that it's possible that someone reading this may know more about Charles, who married Jane ______. The second aim is to take the line back from John of 1782 & find out just who his wife Susannah ______, and his son's wife maiden names were. We have a few clues we are working on at this time in regard to the wives, and we are hoping a DNA possibility will assist in accomplishing the task of establishing John's direct line. If anyone on here has any input to give on these points, I would appreciate a reply to me personally. Ellen J. Ballas (ETHS-VP) at ( [email protected] )
