The Valley Independent (Monessen, Pa) Oct 17, 1984 Frank Kalakewich of Pittsburgh, formerly of Charleroi, died Tuesday, Oct 16, 1984, at 2 p.m. in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 70. Mr. Kalakewich was born March 22, 1914, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Frank Kalakewich and Teresa Fedarko Kalakewich, who survives and resides in Charleroi. He was retired employee of McKnight's Smorgasboard, Pittsburgh. The Valley Independent (Monessen, Pa) Jan 13, 1986 John Kalakewich, 213 Water St., Belle Vernon, died Sunday Jan 12, 1986, at 12:46 a.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital. He was 69 Mr. Kalakewich was born in Pittsburgh on Feb 21, 1916, a son of the late Frank Kalakewich and Theresa Fedorchak Kalakewich, who survives and resides at the Waddington Rest Home, Fayette City. He was a resident of the Belle Vernon community for the last 30 years and was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Army . He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He retired in January 1978 from the steam plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Monessen. Mr. Kalakewich was Catholic by faith. In Addition to his mother, survivors include his wife Mary Catherine Sullenberger Kalakewich; four sons, Johns Robert and Paul Douglas, both of Belle Vernon, James Daryl of Charleroi, and Ralph Frank of West Palm Beach, Fla; two daughter, Mrs. Mary Eileen Fauvie and Mrs. Dennis (Kathy Lynn) Sukel, bother of Belle Vernon, two brothers, William of Charleroi and Robert of Washington; four sister, Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Altman of Virginia, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Rudolph of Sandusky, Ohio. Mrs. Hyman ( Anna Mae) Smith of Gaithersburg, Md., and Theresa Kalakewich of Virginia; nine grandchildren and five step grandchildren Friends will be recieved at teh Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home. 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Surviving are three brothers, John Kalakewich of Belle Vernon, William kalakewich of North Charleroi, and Robert Kalakewich of Washington, Pa., and four sister.Mrs. Margaret Altman and Teresa Kalakewich, both of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Anna Smith of Gaithersburg, MD., and Mrs. Mary Randolph of Sandusky, Ohio. Two sisters, Mrs. Helen Pyrdeck and Elizabeth Kalakewich, are deceased. There will be no public viewing. The Charleroi Mail ( Charleroi, Pa) Sept 11, 1944 Frank Kalakewich, Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, was ordered held for Westmoreland county Criminal Courth last Friday by Burgess James a. Miller of North Belle Vernon on four burglary charges. He was reported to have burglarized the home of E. W. Cole, Hilltop Garage, B. F. Taylor Service Station and the Swearer Service Station all within two blocks of Broad Avenue in North Belle Vernon. Loot included over $100 in cash and coupong for 800 gallons of gasloine The Charleroi Mail Feb 9, 1948 Pittsubrhg, Feb 9 - John Kalakewich 32 of Monessen was held for further investigation today after a Northside couple found him prowling through their home when they arrived home Saturday night. Police said Kalakewich was paroled from Western Penitentiary seven months ago after serving part of a sentence fro burglary.
