Hope they help. Kathy The Valley Independent Aug. 14, 1962 Page 5 J. Clare Emler J. Clare Emler, 64, of 105 Bertha Ave., Donora, died yesterday at his late home. He was born in Homestead on October 9, 1897, a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Kerr Emler. Mr. Emler was a member of the First Methodist Church of Donora, the Methodist Men's Association of the church, and was a past chairman of the board of trustees of the church. He also belonged to the Donora Blue Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons 626, and the Donora Historical Society. A resident of Donora since 1907, Mr. Emler was formerly employed as foreman of the open hearth dept. at American Steel and Wire in Donora, retiring recently after 47 years of service. Surviving are his widow, Martha B.; two sons, J. Fred of Charlotte, N.C., and James C. Jr. of Bethel Park; a daughter, Mrs. William (Peggy) Copeland of Mt Lebanon; two brothers, Albert R. of Gaithersbury, Md., and Richard H. of Livonia, Mich; two sisters, Mrs. Chester Brooks of Webster, and Mrs. James Fast of New Geneva, Pa. Friends are being received at the Richard E. Lawson Funeral Home, Donora, during hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memoriams may be sent to the American Cancer Society. The Valley Independent March 30, 1991 Page 4 Martha B. Emler Martha B. Emler, 92, of 685 Meldon Ave., Donora, died Friday, March 29, 1991, in the Leader of Bethel Park Convalescent Center. Mrs. Emler was born April 29, 1898, in Washington County, a daughter of the late George M. and Isabelle Myers Mitchell. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Donora; the Donora Chapter No. 94, Order of Eastern Star; the Donora Historical Society, the Donora Women's Club, and the Friends of the Donora Public Library. Her husband, J. Clare Emler, died in 1962. A daughter, Margaret Copeland, and two sons, J. Fred and James C. Emler, are deceased. Surviving are eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the James A. Rabe Funeral Home, 701 Thompson Ave., Donora. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
