Pleasant newspaper: Genealogical Library Opens - The Braddock Trail Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution's genealogical library is open to the public. Anybody interested in investigating family genealogy or local history is welcome to explore the resources of the Braddock Trail Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The library's hours of operation are from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesdays and from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Wed. until the end of October. The DAR House (Warden Mansion) is located at 200 S. Church St. in Mt. Pleasant. Put in search engine: Google map South Church Street Mt. Pleasant PA Not far off of Rte. 31. nacs

Dear list,   To expand on what nacs sent (below), my mom lives about a mile from the DAR House listed below.   The building, itself, is worth seeing on its own.  I think it's on the National Registry, but I may be wrong???   Anyway, I asked my mom to try to look up something for me on a distant cousin who had lived in Westmoreland County, which is where this DAR House is located.  I thought she'd go to the library, which is 1/2 mile from her home, but she chose the DAR House instead.  I was quite surprised at how quickly they were able to locate the information needed.   I thought the'd only help with DAR data and boy was I wrong!   So, I highly recommed visiting the DAR House if you're in the area!   Oh, and the building is supposed to be haunted too making it even more exciting to visit!!
