Jr., 95, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away on Aug, 23, 2011. He was born on May 24, 1916, in Little Washington, Pa. to the union of the late Franklin Sr. and Margaret Platt. He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he used his gifts as a guitarist and was the leader of Wednesday prayer meeting for many years. Frank worked and retired in management at the Wheeling-Pitt Steel Company. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Irene Nellie Platt; a sister, Ethel Platt Wade; six brothers, Harry, Alfred, Walter, George, Elmer and Guy Platt; and a son-in-law Calvin Williams. He is survived by a loving wife, Catherine Scruggs Platt; two sons, George (Tina) and Craig (Terrie) Platt; four daughters, Valerie (Ellis) Caldwell, Jackie Platt, Sharlene (Arnie) Mitchell and Carletta Williams; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a niece, Beverly (Solomon) Huffman; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Visitation Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 717 Adams St., Steubenville, OH. Funeral will be held on Saturday, Aug 27, at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Calvin McLoyd, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
