There were three Morehead brothers, Andrew Sr., Robert, and Thomas, that emigrated to the U.S. from County Donegal, Ireland sometime around 1790. They all came to western Pennsylvania, and then Andrew and Thomas cam eventually to Ohio, Andrew Sr. through what is now Brooke County, West Virginia. I don't know what happened to Robert, but the other two settled in Carroll County and Stark County Ohio, Andrew Sr. in the Minerva area of Stark County, and Thomas in Lee Township. Andrew was my ggg great grandfather, father of Andrew Jr., who had Josiah (oldest son), who had Charles Dwight (youngest son), who had Sheldon Bertran (my grandfather)(and also changed the spelling to Moorhead), who had Paul Blyss (my father), who had me, Charles Blyss Moorhead. Andrew Jr. had several other children, nd Josiah had 9 or 10 children, including one daughter named Cin! derilla. Thomas also had several children, who are buried in the Moorehead Cemetery in Lee Township. One of them was Crawford Morehead, who is buried at Harlem Springs. There were several Andrews in several generations, as well as a couple of Abrahams. Most of the Moreheads in Carroll County that you are finding in the 1800's are part of this family. Check out familysearch.org for Moreheads in Minerva and Paris Township, in Stark County, plus Moreheads in Brown and Lee townships in Carroll County. It has taken me several years to sort out who belongs to whom, but all related in some way. Hope this helps. Charles Moorhead Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
