They were the parents of Frank, John, Helen (Pyrdeck), Margaret (Altman), Elizabeth, Mary (Rudolph) William, Anna Mary (Smith), Theresa and Robert. In attendance were 60 family members from Arizona, Illinois, Maine, New York, Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Chairperson was Linda Carson of Charleroi. Her committee consisted of Beverly Williams of Coal Center, and Terry Salmon of Norfolk, Va. Jack Carson of Charleroi gave the blessing before the buffet dinner. The family engaged in games sports activities, and picture taking. Special gifts were presented to the youngest family member, Ciera, 3 - months - old duaghter of Brandy Pyrdeck of Tucson, Ariz; three surviving descendants, Margaret Altman of Norfolk, Va., William Kalakewich of North Charleroi, and Mary Rudolph of Sandusky, Ohio. Virginia kalakewich of Prosperity was honored as the only surviving sister-in-law, and Frank Pyrdeck of Tuscon, Ariz., traveled the farthest. Everyone went home with gifts and mementos given by Terry Salmon from Norfolk, Va., Jayne Schantz of McKees Rocks was elected chairperson for the trhree-day affair scheduled from July 28, 30, 2000. Her committee included Linda Carson, Jim Kalakewich, Terry Salmon and Kathy Reardon. The Daily courier ( Connellsville, Pa) November 27, 1963 Mrs. Stanley Pyrdeck Mrs. Helen K. Pyrdeck, 45, of Smithton, R. D. died Monday night in Charleroi Monessen Hospital. She was born Nov 6, 1918 a daughter of Mrs. Theresa Kalakewich and the late Frank Kalakewich. She was a member of St. Timothy's R. C. Church. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Stanley; a daughter, Kimberly at home; a son Frank of Monessen; two grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Walter ( Margaret) Altman, Miss Theresa and Mrs. Harold (Anna) Smith of New York City and Miss Mary of Lancaster, and three brothers, William of Charleroi, John of Monessen and Robert of Claysville. A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the Barthels funeral home at Smithon, followed by requiem high mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Timothy's church, with the Rev. J. M. Filipcic officiating.
