    1. [PAWASHIN] question about deeds from Youghiogheny County, Virginia
    2. Sandra Page
    3. I have three deeds from Youghiogheny County, both sellers and buyers having residence there, dated 1778 and 1780. The deeds are recorded in Washington County Deed book 1A 1781-1784 (two of them) and V 1C 3 1786-1787. I can follow the buyers through the later warrant and patent process in Washington County. Now I want to go back to the original sellers and find the deeds where they originally bought the land. Where should I start looking? Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania or are there deeds somewhere for West Augusta or would they be in Virginia? Thanks. Sandra Page

Bogusky Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.washington/1524.63.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello. I was wondering if you're still doing look-ups for people? I'm specifically looking for death/burial information for my great-grandmother Catherine Bugusky Mathianas (maybe Bogusky/ Montejonas/Montyones, Mathanias) and naturalization for my great-grandfather John (maybe Janos) Mathainas (any of the above spellings per Census records.) They came from Prussia/Russia/Poland/Lithuania area (not together that I'm aware of.) They lived in Stockdale, PA where they had many children, 4 survived out of about 7 I think. John died 2/27/1933 and buried at Mt Tabor in Stockdale area on 3/1/1933. Catherine died either approximately 11/14/1918 after child birth from I believe Spanish Flu. I'm trying to find who John's parents were, and believe he immigrated with brothers (Andrew, Georges (or Georg)and Joseph. I know they married in 1902 in Elizabeth, PA. Their children included my grandfather Longan born in 1911, Houston 1902, Joseph 1906, Eleanor in 1904 and then Mark born in 1908 and believe died in 1916, and twins Adam and Eve believed to be born about 1917 and may have been stillborn or died shortly after birth. I hope this information helps. You can reach me at babannie95008 at yahoo dot com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. By now, everyone has read about Google removing the easy way to search the newspaper archives for our past. We have also lamented about their decision not to add any more newspapers to their collection. In June, Norm decided to stop the daily updates for our death, marriage, and divorce transcriptions from these old Pittsburgh area newspapers. Norm did a fantastic job in keeping up with it all for 18 months. Thanks!! I have now started a NEW daily updated links so our great volunteers can continue the search for our elusive kin. I want you to know with the fall coming and the leaves starting to fall, that we are open for business to keep working on the indexes. Here are the links: The old: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~njm1/Daily-Update-Submitted-Newspapers.html The new: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~paallent/ and, as usual, the link to see the efforts of our great volunteers! http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/allegheny/death-index.htm Happy transcribing! annie
