You can find the list on Ohiogravestones.org, a website that lists cemeteries in Ohio by county, and has photos of the gravestones listed for each cemetery. The list on the site is a clickable set of links to the photos. The photos are of all of the stones in the Moorehead cemetery. Not all of the cemeterires listed show all of the graves in them. The Carroll county official web site also has a list of all cemeteries in the County, both public and private, that you might find useful, and links to histories of each of the townships. The "Moorehead" surname was often also spelled "Morehead" or "Moorhead", even by the same person at various times (I found one relative who had it spelled all three ways, at different times), since spelling was not always accurate in the 1800's in Ohio. I have a lot of paper records on the Moreheads, but have yet to actually distill the information about them into chart form. There are so many Andrew Moreheads in the 1800's that it is hard to keep them straight, as some of them were cousins and/or uncles to the others. Familysearch.org is a site that you may want to look at also. I do not have any information on the Ralston family. However, you may be able to find some for Brooke County, West Virginia, by checking out the West Virginia Archives and History web site www.wvculture.org/vrr/ Vital Research Records, which allow you to search for Births, deaths, and Marriages in West Virginia, and even see photos of the actual records. I have Martha wife of Andrew's dates & her children but didn't record the parents of Andrew who are buried there in my computer files & now can't seem to locate my paper notes with the info on it. There was a Timothy Ralston who married a ? Morehead in Carroll county & I'm missing the wife's name also. I'm most interested in the Ralston family but there were several connection/ marriages between the Morehead's & My Brooke county Ralstons that I have gathered info on both over the years trying to figure out the relationship of the Moreheads. There was a Sarah Jane Ralston who married a William Morehead bef 1830, I believe he died abt 1842 & she remarried a John Coraze/ Corize? Cozad? (off hand not sure on spelling) but married by 1850 census in Carroll Co. OH. I'd like to find when she died & where she was buried. There were three Morehead brothers, Andrew Sr., Robert, and Thomas, that emigrated to the U.S. from County Donegal, Ireland sometime around 1790. They all came to western Pennsylvania, and then Andrew and Thomas cam eventually to Ohio, Andrew Sr. through what is now Brooke County, West Virginia. I don't know what happened to Robert, but the other two settled in Carroll County and Stark County Ohio, Andrew Sr. in the Minerva area of Stark County, and Thomas in Lee Township. Andrew was my ggg great grandfather, father of Andrew Jr., who had Josiah (oldest son), who had Charles Dwight (youngest son), who had Sheldon Bertran (my grandfather)(and also changed the spelling to Moorhead), who had Paul Blyss (my father), who had me, Charles Blyss Moorhead. Andrew Jr. had several other children, nd Josiah had 9 or 10 children, including one daughter named Cin! derilla. Thomas also had several children, who are buried in the Moorehead Cemetery in Lee Township. One of them was Crawford Morehead, who is buried at Harlem Springs. There were several Andrews in several generations, as well as a couple of Abrahams. Most of the Moreheads in Carroll County that you are finding in the 1800's are part of this family. Check out familysearch.org for Moreheads in Minerva and Paris Township, in Stark County, plus Moreheads in Brown and Lee townships in Carroll County. It has taken me several years to sort out who belongs to whom, but all related in some way. Hope this helps. Last weekend we picked up an Official Visitors Guide to Washington County, PA. On page 12 in the section labeled "Heritage Associations", I saw Jefferson Township Historical Society and went to their webpage. I saw the name of Peggy Strain who was labeled Secretary, along the side of that page. STRAIN is a name I am researching, earnestly. I am wondering how to make contact with her to see if she would possibly be from my line? My STRAIN line was in Smith Township. Jean
I have a sister, born before me, who died at 18 months of age in Allegheny Co. It was the year of 1907. Several years ago I sent for her death certificate and they said that they did not have one. Why would this be? I have her obituary with the date of her death. Any suggestions? Jean
Good news, on September 27th, 2011 Vital Records Bill SB-361 was unanimously passed by the State Senate and is now in the House Health Committee. We cannot assume it will automatically be passed by the House. It won't be the first time a bill was passed by one body unanimously only to have it die in committee in the other. In other words we still have to keep up the pressure. We need to urge the committee members, particularly the chair Matthew Baker (who decides if and when a bill is voted on) and the House leaders to bring the bill up for a committee vote and pass it. In order to get a tacit agreement with the Corbett Administration the years required to have birth certificates become open records was changed from 100 to 105 years old. The whole situation is discussed in detail in the September 28th, 2011 article under The Latest News section of our website: http://users.rcn.com/timarg/PaHR-Access.htm (includes a sample letter for this bill to this committee). Visits, phone calls, letters are the most effective, but even a one paragraph email sent to at least one state representative is better than nothing. Hearing from organizations within their districts, constituents and others (including out of state residents) could prove decisive in getting the bill brought up for a vote and passed by the Health Committee. Thank you for your help. Tim Gruber

I have a bunch that lived in Denbo and the surrounding area and I believe most of their information was reported in the Brownsville Telegraph. I do not believe that newspaper it is online. I know that the Brownsville library and California University of Pennsylvania have it but I have not had the opportunity to do research at either. So I can't tell you anything about that.
