    1. Re: [PAWASHIN] Looking for early Morehead families in Wash co PA
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: mamm54 Surnames: Morehead Family of Carroll & Stark Counties, Ohio Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.washington/3967.1.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm researching the Morehead family of Carroll Co., Ohio as well. The line the family connects to is: Andrew Morehead, Sr. b. 1768 - Ireleand Andrew Morehead, Jr. b. 1803 - Virginia Josiah Morehead b. 1828 - Stark Co., Ohio James Crawford Morehead b. 1861 - Ohio Charles Dwight Morehead b. 1882 - Minerva, Stark Co., Ohio James Carnes Morehead b. 1922 - Ligonier, Westmoreland, PA Robert James Morehead b. 1949 - McAllen, Hidalgo Co., TX It's my understanding that Charles Dwight Morehead was married and had a daughter, named Grace. Something happened and this mystery, we don't know, where Charles left Ohio due to a warrant being out for his arrest. He went to Pennsylvania and met his 2nd wife where he was married in Westmoreland Co. As a family, they moved around to several different states as Charles worked with the railroad as a telegraph operator. The family finally settled in Pharr, Hidalgo Co., TX., where Charles died in 1962. He never returned to Ohio or to ever see his Morehead family, as well as his daughter again. Maybe some other Morehead descendants of this family might know the whole story and can fill in some of the blanks for us. Author: Remy67 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.washington/4009/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My great grandparents came to California, PA from Poland. I've been able to locate some census information so far but nothing related to their immigration. I expect it has to do with differences in spelling. Any information about either of these families would be appreciated. Mary Stankovich, Birth 28 March 1891 in Vilno, Poland, Death 23 Nov 1975 in California,Pennsylvania. Anthony Volkavich, Birth May 29, 1890 in Poland, Death around 1922 in California PA. As far as I know, Tony died in a mining accident. Mary then married Pete Adamovich, also from Poland. Together they raised the five children Mary and Tony had: Ann Delores Volkavich Remy (Nunnie), Frances Marie Volkavich Remy (Fran), Edwin Anthony Volkavich (Edgie), Lottie Volkavich Lancas, Stanley Robert Volkavich (Stuchie). I know there were other Stankovichs in California, but I haven't been able to figure out how or if we are related. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. In the 1880 census (I found on RLDS website) Joseph Camp (age 39 and my gg uncle) and his wife Mary Thompson Camp (30) had two children listed living with them. B. Thompson age 9 and C. Thompson age 4. When you mentioned the two children, George, and my Thompson connection, thought I would just send a note and you would know by dates, ages, etc., whether there might be a connection.
