I have this on my list of to do's for my next trip back to Washington. Was he/she visiting or living with a relative? Just for fun (lol) have you checked all the relatives you can think of? Anyone out of the area? have not found Jesse/Jessie with any local Sprowls family. Not aware of anyone out of the area. Is there a County death record? On one of my curt house visits I recorded all family deaths from the death ledger book and no Jesse. But will double check - checked all spellings? 1 L, 2 L "ou" and "ow" maybe single "o" and double "oo" (heck, at least the "sp" part will always be the same LOL) yep- checked all spellings - even did search of 1st name with no surname, got nothing. Even searched mortality schedule with no names and requesting ALL deaths for Wash. Co. with birth year 1873 < > 5 years - no Jesse or anything close. born ? Oct. 11, 1873... hmmm not much help huh? did their church do baby baptisms? I saw on this web site http://www.chartiers.com/pages-new/vital.html#deaths where LDS had microfilmed the death records and could be rented. So sorry, these obits came from the January 26, 1917 McDonald PA Record. The correct spelling is BERMEN, not BERMAN as I put in the heading.
Cecil Township is experiencing at the present time a great boom in building. Twenty-five new houses are being built at Bishop, twenty-five at Pitco, fifty at Henderson and a large number at East Canonsburg. Since the explosion at Henderson, a great many families have moved from that place; however others are coming to take their place.

Funeral services were held Wednesday evening at the home of her son, Robert MCCLAIN, 229 Arabella street, McDonald. Interment took place Thursday at Kittanning. Frank BROCKMAN, aged 2 months and 25 days, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. BROCKMAN of Saxonburg, Pa., died on Wednesday, January 17, 1917. The child was in good health on Tuesday but was found dead on Wednesday morning, having died between one and six o'clock that morning. When first discovered it was thought the child had smothered. Dr. W. W. LASHIER of Saxonburg was called and Coroner J. Charles DENGLER was notified. The investigation conducted showed that the child had died from pneumonia contracted during the night. Ruth, I found a Cyrus Sproul who was discharged from the 85th Pa. Infantry on surgical certificate, April 11, 1863 and died April 14, 1863. Company E was muster in Nov.12, 1861 and muster out Nov.22, 1864. I don't know if he was related even though the name is spelled differently. Crumrine, Boyd. sorry - found this in my "saved messages" after my previous posting -Ruth Per Gretchen' tree Ruth, it looks like Carl was an illigitimate child. Her parents are listed as Cornelius and Mary Younken Dorsey. I think Connie would the ther person to ask from the Plants family tree list as that was her husband's grandfather and maybe even her mother in law Wilda would know and she is still living. Patricia, I have ROMAINEs in my family tree. The daughter of Gustave and Clementine (Rose ROMAINE) married my grand uncle, James STEVENSON of McDonald, PA, Washington County. I have a copy of Clementine's obit from the McDonald paper if you are interested. Perhaps I may be able to assist you in some way. By the way, in the obit for Rose Romaine's husband, James STEVENSON, her surname is spelled as ROMAN, which seems to me to be a typo. Rose is buried in Robinson's Run Cemetery in South Fayette Township, Allegheny County, outside of McDonald. Please contact me off-list, and I will be more than happy to share what I have, which isn't all that much, but it's something. I also have a copy of an obit for a Charles ROMAINE who was killed in an accident. According to this obituary, Rose ROMAINE STEVENSON was his daughter. The name "Gustave" was not used. Cindy
