    3. Good Afternoon List, I've been a member for a while but have not posted until now. I'm searching for death and burial information on my husband's Great-grandmother's brother. His name was Andy (Andrew) Hrebenick. He was born in Russia and according to 1930 census immigrated in 1914. I've yet to find him on any ship manifest. He lived for years in Youngstown, OH, but in his later years he lived with a family in Slovan, PA. I believe that is where he died in 1954. I don't have any more date than that. I was told he was buried from a Russian Orthodox church in Wellsburg, WV and is buried in Avella, PA. I would like to locate an obituary, or at the very least the name of the cemetery in Avella. Thank you very much for any help that any of you PA experts can provide. Elaine O' in the Beautiful Missouri Ozarks

    3. We have posted many free 19th century maps and atlases showing landowners which can be used with the 1850, 1860 and 1870 censuses. We obtained most of these at the Geography and Map Reading Room of the Library of Congress. They are downloadable from our site—click on the township you want to examine and wait until it loads, click on it again to enlarge it, and then right-click on the image, scroll down to “Save Image As…” and tell it where to save it on your computer. We will continue to post free images as time allows. I have just taken photos of a very large map showing the earliest landowners of Union County by R. F. Brown in 1874, county surveyor, which is on the wall in the courthouse there and I’m stitching the images together and will post them soon. Also, I now have Breou’s 1883 “Farm Maps of Chester County” which I hope to post soon. We purchased the following warrantee maps from the PA Archives in Harrisburg, transcribed every piece of information on each tract (name of the warrantee and patentee; dates of the warrant, survey, and patent; name and size of the tract; and the patent book and page number where the tract was recorded. Then we superimposed atlas coordinates over the maps, reduced them to fit the 8 ½ X 11” pages, and added the coordinates to the description of each tract for ease of locating them. Each volume is completed with an everyname index. Here is a list of the completed published book which can be seen at http://ancestortracks.com <http://ancestortracks.com/> : Berks The PA Land Office only completed maps for about 50% of the county, but we supplemented those Township Warrantee Maps with others from additional sources; about 75% of the county is complete. No maps are included for the following townships: Colebrookdale, Douglass, Hereford, Ontelaunee, Perry, Pike, and Washington. Partial (sometimes very partial) coverage is given for the following townships: Albany, District, Earl, Greenwich, Longswamp, Maidencreek, Windsor, Rockland and Richmond. Fayette These Township Warrantee Maps were previously published (unindexed) in Horn Papers, Volume 3. We have added copious footnotes, most notably from the New Purchase Resiter in the PA Archives, atlas coordinates, and an everyname index. Greene: These Township Warrantee Maps were previously published (unindexed) in Horn Papers, Volume 3. We have added copious footnotes, most notably from the New Purchase Resiter in the PA Archives, atlas coordinates, and an everyname index. Washington: These Township Warrantee Maps were previously published (unindexed) in Horn Papers, Volume 3. We have added copious footnotes, most notably from the New Purchase Resiter in the PA Archives, atlas coordinates, and an everyname index. Wayne and Pike: Map by Jason Torrey, surveyor (1814; indexed; CD only) Westmoreland: We obtained these Township Patent Maps from the county of Westmoreland since the state did not plat this county. These early landowner maps differ from the state-produced warrantee maps (see a description of Pennsylvania’s land acquisition process at http://ancestortracks.com/warrant_registers_CD.htm). The names of the original warrantees were often omitted from the data on the maps, necessitating more research on our part. Thus, we looked up the original reference to each tract (about 4,000 of them!) in the Warrant Registers and Patent Registers in the PA Archives, as well as the New Purchase Application Register of 1769 if applicable. All of this compiled information is included in this atlas.

    1. [PAWASHIN] Need Research Help PLEASE
    2. Judy Florian
    3. I have Mary A. Flowers b. ca. 1818-1820 died unknown year. Last seen in 1880 Census; no 1890 Census, and not in 1900 Census. Was in East Washington area of Washington PA with her daughter's family in 1900. Last week, I looked through some newspaper images I saved from Ancestry for Sarah J. Flowers, daug. of Mary A. Flowers. I realized I had proof that Mary A. Flowers was ALIVE in October 1895 when she sold property in the estate of Sarah J. Flowers who died between Jan and March 1895 in Connellsville, Fayette Co PA. (Yeah!! Instead of looking for 20 years, now there's just a 15 year period to search!) She rented in 1870 in Washington before living (again) with her daughter. I believe I checked her in Deeds but I'll need to re-check between 1895 and 1900 summer (Spring-Summer is usual Census time). I need help some *someone* to look for any Deed, Will, Account, and in Death records for her. My goal is to get a date close enough to get her Obit from the newspaper -- and pray it says something. I feel sure she is in an unmarked grave in the same cemetery as her husband and son. TWO of her daughters daughters' obits list the same cemetery -- unmarked graves also. So I'm real close to finding her death date, but I need help. All usual considerations of copying, gas, time will be given. Could *you* help me (please)? Judy P.S. I also need the same things for Sarah J. Flowers from Uniontown Courthouse. At least it's known that it's probably early 1895 for her death. -- Washington County PA Websites: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~florian/ http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~florian/ http://freepages.religions.rootsweb.com/~florian/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~pawashin/
