    1. [PAWASHIN] WILSONs - Across Three states - PA-VA(WV)-OH
    2. Julia A. Krutilla
    3. WILSON QUERY Too many WILSONs. I've two lines (not sure they are connected). My web page has most of my data base listed. They mostly range from Washington Co., PA across the northern panhandle of WV, and into the Ohio Lands of Jefferson, Harrison, and Belmont Counties, OH. Mostly early and difficult to follow a paper trail of early 1800s and late 1700s. If any of these Wilson appeal to you - just ask: http://home.comcast.net/~krutillaja/names6.htm#WILSON My brick wall WILSONs are Robert b. 1814 Mt. Pleasant, Jeff. Co., OH (census showing father born PA). http://home.comcast.net/~krutillaja/fam00173.htm I feel he is connected to one of the two Thomas WILSONs that lived next door. and Margaret Ann b. 1812 PA (not a proven connection to George Wilson). She lived along the PA/VA(WV) border, her husband, Robert STEWART a miller operated the Applegate Mill in Wash. Co., PA. http://home.comcast.net/~krutillaja/fam00341.htm PS - My web page may not work this week, Comcast is currently updating their system. Try again later if necessary. At this moment - it's fine! ;) Wishing everyone a new found ancestor, Julia >(snip) . . .Does anyone have any WILSON families who migrated to >Tuscarawas or Harrison Counties Ohio around 1815 to 1830?? > >Half of my Wilson ancestors were born in PA and the other half in >OH.? They married in Tuscarawas and Harrison Counties but I have >been unsuccessful to match them to any WILSON families in Tuscarawas >or Harrison Counties.

    1. [PAWASHIN] KARR surname
    2. Ruth Sprowls
    3. While researching for one of our "lost" Sprowls in Kansas in 1878-1880's I have located Martin S. Sprowls. Seems he was the attorney for the county of Kingman, and became "partners" in a land scheme with E. A. KARR (or his brother E. M. KARR) and R.G. McClain. All 3 were arrested and once bonded out seems that Sprowls disappeared. Turns out that Sprowls coat was found by Pinkerton detective with a hole in the back. WOW In researching this story, I find that the father of Karr was originally from Washington Co.PA. NOW - from family trees submitted to Ancestry World Tree Project I have located tha parents of Elihu Alley KARR and brother Eldridge Milton KARR. (I believe Eldridge Milton Karr to be the partner, since the name of Milton was used in a history I have located.) Seems "very" bad blood between Sprowls and brother of "Milton" Karr. (per 1880 census for Vinita Twp., Kingman Co.,KS both Karr brothers are listed in addition to another brother William..) According to the trees I located, parents of these Karr fellows were William A. KARR, born March 24, 1813 and Amanda PEACE HOPKINS. (Have also seen maiden name of Amanda as PEES/PEAS). She was born 1814-1815 Nicholad Co., KY. Elihu was born 1846 Indiana; Milton abt. 1852 Iowa and William Henry Karr b. abt. 1850 Iowa. Am searching for Karr researchers who may have further info or who would like further info. Seems that Sprowls, Karr and McClain forged mortgage deeds to amount of $2,500.00 . Interesting, since according to Kingman Co. history land was selling for $1.25 per acre in 1871. A researcher I contacted in that county sent me copies of the trial transcripts from the newspapers and seems that one of the brothers of Milton Karr did NOT get along with Sprowls and Sprowls felt the same. (as both stated that if they saw the other that he would kill him - well, Sprowls coat with the bullet holes was found a mile from the farm of that Sprowls brother!!). I paid $36.50 for this research and am so excited. No other family trees I have located have had any info on Martin S. Sprowls, so another lost soul located. Interestingly, sister of Martin was Louise Sprowls. She married a William Stewart and had visited the county during the trial. (Wm. Stewart d. in 1880, I am told). Wife of Elihu was a STEWARD. Am wondering if mispellings and if could be related. Thanks for any leads or contacts. Ruth Sprowls

In 1872 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary REED of Butler County. In 1877 the family moved to Washington County, locating on a farm near Venice. From 1903 to 1912 Mr. MOORE made his home in McDonald, leading a retired life. A year ago he went back to the farm. In politics he was a Republican. He was a member of the Venice United Presbyterian Church. Besides his wife there survive two children: John I. MOORE of Buffalo, N. Y., and Mrs. Emma J. SCOTT, wife of Dr. W. L. SCOTT of Raccoon. He also leaves one brother, J. E. MOORE of Houston. Funeral services in charge of the Rev. C. T. LITTEL, who was assisted by the Rev. W. D. IRONS, D. D., were held at the MOORE home Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in the Venice cemetery. Patrick DUFFY, aged fifty years, of Noblestown, died Monday evening in the Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, from injuries received in an accident at the mine of the Fayette Coal Company near Noblestown, Monday morning. Several months ago his little son Patrick was struck by an automobile and died from the injuries. DUFFY was employed as a roadman at the mine. About five o'clock Monday morning he was riding on the first car of a trip of loaded cars down the slope to dump them. As he started to jump off he slipped and fell backward, striking his head. His skull was fractured. A wife and five children survive. The funeral services were held in St. Patrick's Church at Noblestown on Wednesday morning and were largely attended. Interment was made in the cemetery near the church.
