Author: Glenn_Channell Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.washington/3485/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am trying to find a marriage record for John Joseph Gregg, who was born in Cambria County in 1907. On his death certificate (1955), he is listed as married. The informant is given as "Mrs. Lillian Gregg". I looked in Cambria County and Westmoreland County (where his parents lived in later years) to no avail. On his death certificate, his address is given as "422 E.Pike St., Canonsburg", and he was buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery, so I am hoping that perhaps his wife was from the Washington County area and they were married there. If anyone can help with a marriage lookup next time they are in the courthouse, I would greatly appreciate it. I'll order the copy myself if the record is there, but I need enough of the information from the index record to request it by mail. Thanks Glenn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. SCOTT, CURRY, MARCOZ Mrs. Elizabeth SCOTT, wife of John SCOTT, Jr., was found dead in bed at her home in Mt. Pleasant township about nine o'clock Friday morning, October 31. Mrs. SCOTT had not been in good health for several days but was up and about as usual Thursday evening. Before retiring she directed her housekeeper to let her sleep Friday morning. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a staunch Democrat in all things political. A crash not unlike that of rolling thunder, heard by a goodly number of McDonald residents shortly after six o'clock on Monday morning, was a rear end collision between two freight trains on the Panhandle railroad, about half a mile west of the station. The Dead Albert ROSEBERRY aged 32 years, of Sheraden, flagman; badly crushed about the body; died shortly after being taken from the wreckage. The Injured J. B. KING, break man; burned about the body by escaping steam; sent to a hospital in Pittsburgh. A freight train had pulled into the Jumbo mine siding and was standing near the tipple. A second train pulled in on the switch and stopped, waiting for the first to pull out. The third freight pulled in and crashed into the rear end of the second freight. ROSEBERRY, the flagman, was in the caboose of the second train when the huge engine plowed into and telescoped it. ROSEBERRY was caught under the wreckage and pinned to the ground. A steam pipe on the engine burst and before ROSEBERRY could be taken out he met a horrible death by scalding. The accident was due to the heavy fog.
