Speaking of Clarks and Washington / Greene Co., PA, I wonder if there are descendents still in the area of Samuel Clark b about 1740, who lived in Amwell Twp. He was my 5ggrandfather and the only line I've brought up to the present is through his son John Clark, Sr. who moved to Licking Co., OH about 1810 with his wife Mary French and his children. Well, actually I also have a lot about Isaac Clark, who married Deborah French, Mary's sister. Many of Isaac's descendents stayed in PA, but I'd like to find people still in the area who are descendents and might care to exchange info. I am looking for an obituary for this individual listed on the SSDI. There is a very good chance this man is a cousin of my brother in law. If so, sure wish I had him before they both passed away! NACS - since marriage records start with 1885 at the court house, you will most likley locate the info. You didn't mention the daughters name, so am assuming this is what you are searching for. Will check the newspaper arechives to see what I might find for you. Ruth
Judy - if you post the info for the obit you need, someone on the list may be able to assist. Many of us have access to obit files. Be sure to include spouse, parents, and children and est. date. Too much info is better than not enough. tx, Ruth ----- Original Message ----- From: <judygen@bellsouth.net> To: <pawashin@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 12, 2008 9:54 AM Subject: [PAWASHIN] Obit Request > Can anyone tell me the best way to go about getting an obit from > 1999? Friends, Word has been received from Rebecca Pauley that her good friend Bill Thompson (known to most of us as "Clair 2nd") passed away Sunday evening in Michigan. Our Sincerest Sympathy to his family. We will post an obit and more information when it arrives. Most of our older members and researchers knew Bill to be one of our most devoted researcher with a true love of Washington County. He grew up in west end Washington and made frequent travels back here for research. Surnames of most concern to him were THOMPSON, KELLY, KELLEY, and BEDILLION. His illness over past 3/4 years has prevented his research or communication with most of us. Bill's interest in Genealogy and Washington County gave many of us the awareness and interest in these ideas and spurred us on to investigate on our own. Many will remember him and HE WILL BE MISSED ! For those who are interested there are photos on "Washington Pa Nostalgia web site at 3 URL http://freepages.nostalgia.rootsweb.com/~ebgschol/pauley/cgt_bp.htm and http://freepages.nostalgia.rootsweb.com/~ebgschol/veterans/thompsn2.html and his father's photo is here http://freepages.nostalgia.rootsweb.com/~ebgschol/veterans/thompsn1.html Both Bill and his father are among the Veterans. Regards Carol Ann Claffey Mounts (a distant cousin) Ps, I see that updates are needed at bottom of those pages and will get to those tomorrow.
