Morganza was an institution for wayward boys and girls that closed its doors in 1967. It was located in Cecil Township, Washington County and was also known as the Pennsylvania Training School. The facilities were later used by the Western State School and Hospital and then later known as the Western Center. I believe this has now also been closed down. The question which I have is, does anybody know who I might contact or where I might write to obtain information for genealogical purposes concerning an individual who was at Morganza back in the 1910 time frame. I have searched the internet to no avail. Thanks for any info. David
To the List, I am looking for information on my great grandmother, Agnes Lutz. She was born in 1874 in Austria/Poland/Russia and immigrated to the US in 1893. Agnes was married twice: Lorenz Kowal and Larance (Lawrence) Skoball (Scoball). Lorenz Kowal died in 1907 in Elco, PA. I don't know the date that Agnes married Larance (somewhere between 1910-1920). They also lived in Elco, PA. Agnes was shown as a widow again in the 1930 Census in Detroit. Is anyone tracking information on the KOWAL, SKOBALL, SCOBALL, LUTZ families? Carolyn Tomlin

How many people make a family? How many families make genealogy? by Judith Florian I tried last year to get people interested in submitting "tributes" about -- * your parents * your grandparents * your great grandparents Tributes can include a photo and story, or an article, tell what the person did in life, personality quirks, basic genie info. Send submissions ONLY to << washington.co.pa.webmaster@gmail.com >> especially if your mail contains a photo. First, this message is intended only to inform, rather than start any debates about RW. So, no need for any responses. RW has begun moving "freepages" to new "rootsweb" URLs. ***This will NOT affect how users get to any webpage they previously bookmarked. Users should not even notice a difference. Just continue to use the same URLs. Some PAGenWeb webmasters, though, report their on-site search boxes are not picking up all their pages this week. A few of those webmasters also have later reported that, after their pages all "moved" (i.e. got the new URL) the search engines were then able to re-index pages. So, the "glitch" is apparently temporary. I just wanted to let people know there MIGHT be times or days when an on-site search on a "freepages" site might not give any results, and so, to check back in a few weeks. It should all straighten itself out. So therefore, I also ask, please don't write to tell me the search boxes on my web sites give no results ; -) <grin> No need to respond to this. I don't want my email to end up clogging the lists with comments. Just know there might be a temporary problem, and return to that website later.
