Pleasant Cemetary, Hickory, Washington co., PA. It is located off Rt. 50 on Wabash Station St. in Hickory, Mt. Pleasant Twp., Washington Co., PA. I understand there is a Census of the cemetary published in "Mt. Pleasant Cemetery" by A.D. White, 1976. Copy in genealogical collection at Citizens Library, Washington, PA. Can anyone do a look-up?? My great great great grandmother was Sarah (CUMMINS) HILLIS was from Hickory, PA and moved to Seneca Co., Ohio. Her son, Joseph Finley HILLIS was born in Hickory on 20 JUNE 1831. Trying to find out her mother;s and father's names. There was a John CUMMINS who lived in 1850 census in the Mount Pleasant twp., Washington co., PA and was born in Maryland. Does Mount Pleasant, PA, (a city outside of Hickory, Pa)have a cemetery listing for Cummins or HILLIS. thanks Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hi list, Where might I confirm the birth of ancestor Jonathan Walton b.16 Jun 1777 to Amos Walton and Marcy Lacock? We need to confirm the parental link for application in the S.A.R. This date of birth was calculated from the date of death on his gravestone and also as listed in the book, "The Tenmile Country and Its Pioneer Families" by Howard L. Leckey. Thank you. Jeannette
I'd like to thank the several folks who provided an answer to my query about the location of Federal. Should have been looking in Allegheny County! Thanks again for your kindness and help. Shirley

Hi List, I am tyring to find where the above-mentioned marriage took place. Several years ago I received a scrap of paper from a distant relative giving a few basic details of the marriage but not where it took place. The paper states: "Samuel A Gailey Jr remarried on 14 Nov 1961 by Paul Schono, Alderman & Justice of Peace to Sophia Olish." About this time Samuel was living in Monongahela. Was Paul Schono an Alderman & Justice of Peace in Washington Co? Thanks for any thoughts and help. Carolyn (TX, USA)
Ohio is online, I've managed to acquire quite a few for my MCCULLY line. On the LDS site you can get some death certificates up to about 1953 as I have found many for Ohio and these are complete originals. I can't remember the latest date for the WV ones but I have found tons of them for family and keep checking. The things I found the best at the WV site is the marriage certificates in later years there. I type the name using the wonderful "*' feature they have for names, in case of wrong spelling, and then I work from about the 1930's all the way to the end and you can find marriages up to about 1970 and some of those counties that are on line right now, such as Marshall county, give the parents names and some even have the mother's maiden name in the marriage certificate. Some counties there are none for and one of those, sadly is Ohio County, WV, marriage records. This is where it seems a lot of Washington Co, PA residents were married. So push for at least 1953 on PA death certificates. I find those years prior to about 1961 are sometimes the hardest to find due to lack on the SS death index. Does anyone happen to know the name of the road where this cemetery sits? And I would also like to know where the cemetery office is--if there is one, LOL. Thanks very much. Cindy
Does anyone know which church this minister, Herbert R. Morris, was associated with? This would have been in the 1902-1903 era, in Midway. Thank you.
Does anyone know where Federal, PA is located? On my relative's marriage records, he was working as a miner in Federal, PA. The date was 1902-1903. The wedding took place in Midway. Thanks.
