Yesterday afternoon a young and budding life was taken away in the death of Ruth, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James RYLAND who died yesterday afternoon about 3 o’clock at the home of her parents, Meadow avenue. Her passing away has caused sorrow among her little friends and the bereaved family alike. Miss Ruth had been sick just a day or so, and the end was peaceful. She would have been eight years of age in May. Ruth was a faithful pupil in room No. 4 of the local public schools, Miss ALLISON being her teacher and was a general favorite. She had proved herself a loving and obedient daughter during the brief years of her life and the blow was a sad one to her bereaved parents. The funeral services will be held Friday morning in the Cumberland Presbyterian church, after which the remains will be taken to Fairchance where they will be interred. The heartfelt sympathy of a host of sorrowing friends is extended to the family in their sorrow. ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com

Would someone look up an Obit for Elizabeth M. McDonald? She died in Washington County in 1940. She was born in 1866 I think. Help on this would be highly appreciated. I live quite a ways from Washington County and at my age am unable to get there myself. Thanks in advance. Bill Leichter **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. I am currently involved in this process for my daughters. The answer to the DAR accepting proof from previous applications is sometimes. Apparently, this used to be the case, however they have become much more stringent. If you find that an application on this relative has been submitted (the DAR local chapter registrar should be able to get that info) recently (5 - 10 years ago) the chances are good that you will not have to provide proof on those descendants you share in common. At least this is what I am being told from the Registrar of the local chapter who is "mentoring" my process. In a message dated 3/31/2008 3:29:58 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, myancestry@rogers.com writes: Hi Jeannette, Birth records in the 1770s are pretty much limited to family Bibles and baptismal records, and these are not easy to find (if they exist at all). You'll probably have better luck proving parentage using Amos' will, which should name Jonathan as an heir. If Amos died intestate, look for estate records that identify his heirs and state their relationship to the deceased. You might also check DAR/SAR records. Perhaps other descendants of Amos and Jonathan have filed DAR/SAR membership papers, and all you need to do is to prove descent from a person in that already-proved line. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the DAR won't require you to re-prove and line that has already been proved to their satisfaction. Good luck. He became a benedict yesterday and an “automobile” ride and reception were features of the plans prepared by his many friends by way of celebration. Mr. MELL and Miss Julia LINNAGEL, of Manown street, were married yesterday morning in Pittsburg. They returned home on an afternoon train. In the evening the “boys” captured “nick” and placing him in the improvised “horseless carriage” that has seen service on similar occasions gave him a ride through the streets. “Nick” was well treated and under the careful and competent direction of I.
