Its too long a story but to make it short a John BLACK died in the home of Luke (Quke) in July 1869, on Mortality Census 1870, Chartier, Allegheny, Pa. This turned out not to be my John BLACK, however, I would really like to have information as to how the two families are connected and maybe find out who the man was who died in his house. I said it was complicated!! I would appreciate it if you have any information please let me know? Thank you, Alice Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I'm sure we covered all this on the Elliott board. I thought that the William of the Shipwreck Elliott moved to Choshocton, OH area? If anyone ever proves that he had a sister, Margaret who married a cousin, Thomas please let me know...that is my Elliott line. Thomas was a cousin of hers is what family history said which means I should be related by marriage to the William Elliott family. However, Thomas, had a brother William who was older who came earlier to America (family history) and located in a Methodist community. Thomas spent 10 years in PA before moving to OH supposedly. Supposedly, the John Elliott b in Ireland who married a Blaine sister is Thomas' brother...anyone doing Elliott research in Washington Co prior to 1800 please feel free to contact me off list. Think Carolyn and I have been round and round about this :) Thanks, Vera Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Sorry, I should have included more info...time frame would have been : Samuel born c1774 - died c1830's ...have 1825 land document ... ...marriage c1795 ? (guessing due to children born) Area: Washington Co., PA (Hopewell, Saltlick or Buffalo Creek?) ...his father owned land in Fayette co., PA Scammehorn researchers seem to know of the marriage but no other info...however I have documents of a land record naming Samuel's wife as Mary...don't have anything that confirms it's a Margaret, or 2nd wife etc. Thanks, Sandy
Sandy - what time frame? Margaret Scammehorn m. Samuel Davison tx, Ruth
Trying to connect this family to the Davison or Davidson family...very little documentation around the Washington and Fayette counties...would be curious if anyone has more than .... Margaret Scammehorn m. Samuel Davison Sandy Sacramento, CA

I am trying to find some info on a relative of mine, Lowell K. Swartz. All I know is that he died in PA before 1962! On a brighter note, I have some info which leads me to believe his wife may have died in Houston, Washington Co. PA. Her name was Josephine (Vice Swartz). I have two Josephines and don't know which is most likely..however, the first one seems more likely. since I know they lived in Ohio prior to moving to PA. Name: Josephine Swartz Born: 18 May 1899 Last Benefit: 15342 Houston, Washington, Pennsylvania, United States of America Died: Jun 1980 State (Year) SSN issued: Ohio (Before 1951) Name: Josephine Swartz SSN: 183-10-9693 Last Residence: 08034 Cherry Hill, Camden, New Jersey, United States of America Born: 19 Sep 1899 Last Benefit: 08053 Marlton, Burlington, New Jersey, United States of America Died: May 1978 State (Year) SSN issued: Pennsylvania (Before 1951) Thanks for any thing!
