(Shriner) Green, 69, of Spring City, Tennessee, formerly of Wheeling, West Virginia, died, Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at the Spring City Care Center, Spring City. She was born May 29, 1941, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Paul Andrew Shriner and June Etta (Lambert) Shriner, who preceded her in death. Delores had fought a courageous battle against many elements, but died on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. She was in declining health for many years, but on July 14, 2010 Michael and I (Julie) had to put her on hospice. This was so hard we cried for many hours that day. Delores accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior early in life. She was a member of Community of Christ (RLDS) in Clinton, Mo. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was loved by so many, words can't express the pain we are feeling right now. Delores was married a total of 5 times. She first married James Reed Porterfield on June 14,1962. After divorcing him, she married Michael Mickey Carr in July 15, 1966, who preceded her in death Aug 24, 1988. By this time, she had divorced him and married Johnny Higman on 01 Nov 1982. Johnny died in March of 1988. She then divorced him, and married Harry Edward Green on April 14, 1987, who also preceded her in death on Jan 03, 1994. Later that year on March 02, 1994, she married Harry's brother, Clyde Green, who survives of Windsor. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Michael S. Carr, his wife Julie (Allen) Carr (formerly of Eldon, Mo), and their two kids Michael W. and Stephanie J. Carr all of Cleveland, TN; Another son Paul S. Carr, his wife Kimberly (Heskitt) Carr, and their daughter Cassidy G. Carr all of Chilhowee, MO; A brother, Richard Shriner and his wife Linda and his 2 boys Paul Joseph and Andrew John Shriner all of PA. A sister, Nancy Robertson of PA, Nancy's daughter, Karen Shriner and her 3 boys Justin, Brandon, and Cody all of CA. Nancy's Son, Daryl Shriner, his wife Mary Lou, and his 2 daughters Amanda and Jocelyn Shriner all of PA. A Sister-in-law, Deanna Shriner and her three children, Donald, Debbie, and Deanna Pikeo. Uncle Joseph Shiner of PA and Aunt Sue Procasky of OH. She also has Step-nieces: Patricia Green, Kathryn Long, and Anna Ingram, who were all raised by Harry Green. Several cousins, and friends. I couldn't list all the nurses at Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center , who helped with mom. However, two of which who will never leave our hearts are Tammy and Kevin. I don't think I would have made it through this if it wasn't for them by our side. The guilt of having to put Mom in a nursing home has disappeared as we realized that people like Tammy and Kevin cared and loved Mom everyday and night when we couldn't be there. In the last few weeks, we also had Sally, who was the hospice nurse. She, too, as helped as through this very hard time. In addition to her parents and husbands listed above, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Andrew Shriner, Jr. on March 28, 1996. Graveside services was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 7, at Clinton Memory Gardens Cemetery, Clinton, Mo., with Pastor Kathy Loyd officiating. The family received friends at the cemetery before the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to help with funeral expenses and contributions may be left in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hadley Funeral Home, 405 E. Benton St. Windsor, Mo 65360. Please put Delores Green in the Memo. Condolences may be left online at www.hadleyfuneralhome.com. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I urge anyone who has had money or personal information stolen in these 'relative in distress' scams to make report with www.ic3.gov. it is the internet crime complaint center. WWW.onguardonline.government is another wonderful site by the Federal Trade Commission. Dear Listers, I would like to tell the listers on here how they can help if they communicate with anyone with a Yahoo Address to be on the lookout for getting mail that looks like it came from them but did not & mentions being away on a trip & being robbed & needing help. I got one of these today & immediately called the man on the telephone in Utah because I knew his account had to have been hacked. Not only had it been hacked, but one of his contacts in another country had actually sent the person money & they are looking to seeing how this can be tracked. Now here is what they did that means the most to the person hacked. The hacker finds your access code & immediately changes who receives their mail, so they can get all of it instead. They also get the names of everyone in that persons address book. We need to be on the lookout for this type of crime & actually see if we can phone the person. The sooner they get the information, the sooner they can repair the damage. I know this is not a new thing, but it's the first time I ever got something like this myself. Thank You For Reading, Ellen Ballas

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO CITIZENS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY AND THE TEAM OF PEOPLE WHO PRODUCED THE 200TH BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION. My trip to Washington (from Washington State) was two-fold: 1) do family research on SWEARINGEN/COOKE and allied families and 2) attend the 200th celebration to better understand the history of Washington and Washington County where my ancestor lived. I want to specifically thank the following: The Washington County Historical Society - Janet Warham The Genealogy Society of Southwestern Pennsylvania - Dona Hamilton The Citizens Library - Ella Hatfield Washington & Jefferson College - Archives - Anna Mae Moore The Washington County Court House - Law Library - Patricia Stavoy The DAR branch of Washington - Billie Sue Serbak And the Golf Club of Washington (where the Cooke Burial Ground is located) - Connie Quast And countless others who guided me to new sources and to the roads I needed to take. Each piece is another part of the family history puzzle. It was such fun meeting so many friendly people and trying foods that were particular to Pennsylvania. A family searcher, Lola (Swearingen) Weber

I'd offer scanned photos to Cornerstone, Greene, also. Possibly Westmoreland too! They need to get posted on site where people can view them. Then, hopefully someone will recognize them. If not, then they're retained for future reference! I think if you scanned them in and sent an email to all the lists asking if web administrators would like to post them, you'd get takers! Hope this helps! Carole Clarke Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. In them I found some that are from McDonald, PA with the name Eyer printed on them. I'm assuming this is the name of the photographer or studio that took the photos. James was born in June 1840 in Greene Co, PA. He was a veteran of the Civil War. AFter the war, he farmed in Franklin and Rich Hill Twps. The 1900 census record shows him living in Donegal Twp, Washington Co. I believe he died in Washington Co because he was buried in Claysville Cemetery. Even though I have been told about the Claysville burial, I do not have a date of death. His wife Delilah Adamson was born about 1843. She died sometime between 1885 and 1900. Stephen Saunders that you are speaking about owned a 300 acre patent called "Sweden". His wife was Catrine/Catherine. Many of the early settlers of Morris Twp., Washington County came from Morris Twp., New Jersey. Stephen sold out all of his land prior to 1800 except about 50 acres which eventually went to his son Daniel. I do not recall a will or estate record for Stephen Saunders. Son, Stephen eventually purchased back the eastern portion of what was the original patent. He did leave a will and I think he died 1852(?). Grandson, Stephen (son of Daniel) eventually bought back the rest of the patent land minus the 50 acres and he died in 1900 splitting the 300 acres between his two sons, Isaac Newton Sanders and Henry Sanders. In Washington if you can spend a day, the courthouse, Citizens Library, and the Washington County Historical Society are within one block of each other. At the courthouse, start at the Law Library and they can direct you to the different depts. there.
