Not much information but some. On Karle (Charles) Pleger and Julia Radig's marriage application, it lists the parents of both Karle and Julia. Karle's parents where John and Eliz. Pleger. There is not a country of orgin for either of them. At the time of their marriage, Prussia was part of the German Empire and was listed as such. So I looked to naturalization records for a more accurate country of origin. Frederick (Sr.) is listed as from Prussia, since he naturalized before the merger. Frederick (Jr., son of Frederick) and Charles (Karle) naturalized after the merger and are listed as from German Empire. There is a Pleger book that Shirly Biechner made in the 1970's, that has the story of the Pleger family as told by either Florence or Frederick while in old age in a nursing home. My Great Grandma Rose Pleger told me that Karle (Charles) told here once that the Pleger family came from east o! f Danzig and the land was flat. Also that Ed and Rose's homestead reminded Karle (Charles) of his homeland and what he left behind. Also if you are interested, I have the names of the parents of Julia Radig. One of the facts that was interesting to find out was that the Pleger and Radig families where friends in the old country. I found that little tidbit while researching the Radig side of the family.
