Hughes, 74, of 530 ½ Liberty St, Franklin, widow of Byron Murray Hughes, died in the Franklin hospital at 7:55 pm Friday. She had been a patient since last Saturday when she suffered a fractured hip in a fall in her home. Mrs Hughes resided all her life in Rockland township until one year ago, when she moved to Franklin. She was the daughter of the late Lebbeus Bigelow and Hannah Snyder Bigelow and was born Sept. 6, 1875. She was well known in Rockland township. Surviving are three sons, Emerson E. Hughes of Oil City, Aubrey Hughes of Pittsburgh and Murrill E. Hughes of Alexandria, Va., six grandchildren, one brother, William H. Bigelow, of Franklin and one sister, Mrs. Joseph Beach of Franklin. The body was removed to the H. J. Buchanon funeral home in Franklin. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
