Hey I can feel your frustration. I believe the "Old" St Joes cemetery to which they are referring is part of what is now Grove Hill cemetery. The entrance too that cemetery is at the top of Bishop St on the north side of Oil City. But rather than go in the entrance at the top of Bishop, bear slightly to the right to an alley (it was a dirt road when I was a kid but not sure if it's paved or what now) which runs beside the fence of the cemetery. About half way down the alley on the left there will be another entrance to the cemetery, a very steep road. This other entrance road splits what I believe is the old St Joes cemetery. I belonged to St Joseph's and several generations of my family are buried their. I have at least one relative that was buried their in 1892. I think that the section on the right of the steep entrance road has the older graves and the section on the left was used later on. The people from the Venango Co Gen. Society have been extremely helpful in the past. I think they are still on the second floor of the Oil City library. If you have any other questions please fell free to ask. Good Luck Mike Kelley
