I have been to Oil City Library, but did not have enough time there to check out everything. I wasn't aware there were indices of Grove Hill Cemetery, nor that there was a Catholic section of the same. I am sure my folks were buried in the Church cemetery associated with St. Joseph's because I have many of their OBITs and the burial locations are described as "St. Joseph Cemetery." I have about exhausted the Pennsylvania Room holdings and was able to find much information on family members there, just not burial locations from the older burials. I corresponded with the Diocese of Erie's rep. on the subject and although quite nice, she referred me back to Fr. Swoger. I will have to try again, as Fr. Swoger, although he wrote back, did not answer many of my questions such as whether Fr. John Carroll's records may be with the Diocese. Is Grove Hill the cemetery above the city (looking down on Bissell Ave., for instance) with burials on the sides of steep ! slopes? It looks like Mountain Goats would have had to accompany the funeral processions to the graves. I will try taking your suggestions and do thank you for your time.
