When visiting Venango County last summer to find graves and do research, I had free housing at my mother's in Mercer County. Altoona is another story, plus, because of a disabling illness, I have to use a wheelchair much of the time. It makes everything ten times harder to do because of access problems and finding hotels with proper handicapped accessible rooms, etc. That's one reason I was enraged by the difficulty I encountered in getting any cooperation from the secretary at St. Joe's until it was too late to find even my great-grandparents' graves. Altoona is on my agenda when I can. Thanks for your help. John Hughes had eight children and I have pictures and information about many of them.
