I have copies of the newspaper articles because my great great grandfather David Morgan was the conductor of the train and was killed. Some of the articles refer to your ancestor as Ulery some list him as Oliver. Some of the articles doubted that he would live. I guess it depended on who was writing the article. The train ran from the Cranberry mines into Oil City. After the wreck they shut down the railroad and gave the station to my great great grandmother to live in with her six children. She had five at the time of the wreck and was pregnant with the sixth. She used the building to run a store in the front and they lived in the back. No social security back then. In the Blizzard article of August 5th, 1882 it states, "Ulery (not Oliver) Latshaw was cut about the head and face, but with a little assistance walked home, where he was taken spasms almost immediately. He is now in a favorable c! ondition.
