Margaret, I'm not sure if anyone answered your question or not so I will tell you what I know. Rynd Farm was both a town (village) and an actual farm. During oil boom excitement many of the farms in the valley got caught up in the excitement. If there was an area with a lot of oil wells before long a village would spring up around the wells. Often these towns took on the name of the original land owners such as Rynd Farm (also Shaffer Farm and Miller Farm, just to name a couple). Rynd Farm is still a small village in Cornplanter Township.. there is not much to be found there but a few houses and a depot for the OC&T (a tourist railroad that runs through the valley). I work for the OC&T and have or can get information about the valley it runs through. Hope That helps some Theresa ----- Original Message ----- From: <MargT103@aol.com> To: <PAVENANG-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, December 27, 2000 6:22 AM Subject: [PAVENANG-L] Questions-need help > I have information that my great-grandparents, residents of Venango County, > Cornplanter Twp. lived in a place called Rynd Farm.
