I have John Monks Sr. who was born in Carlise and moved to Oil City in 1872 he was a master car builder for the WNY&P. He lived on Spruce St. at the time of his death March 14, 1908. He had three sons and two daughters. 1. William Monks died at 50. I do not know who his wife was but he had a step daughter Rose Sittig. 2. Thomas Monks died February 11, 1926, he lived on Emerald St. in Oil City. I do not know who he was married to, but his children where Mrs. Charles Nichols, Mrs. A.T. Car, Mrs. Thomas Mealy, Mrs. George Durher, Charles, Edward/Edwin, William, all of Oil City. And Mrs. F.B. Edwards, of Corry. 3. John Monks of Toledo Ohio 4. Sallie/Sarah 5. Katherine/Katie Thomas Monks son Edward/Edwin, married Clara Ensle they lived on Warren St. in Oil City, and had five children Thomas, Howard, Edwin, Edna and Dorothy, I believe Dorothy was adopted. I am looking for any information I can on both the Monks and the Ensle families. I have no further information on Clara Ensle or her family.
