I continue to seek the parents of my Great grandfather, Andrew Gilchrist Downing. I firmly believe him to be the grandson of Leanah Walters and Andrew G. Downing. Their son, James D. was born about 1840 and married Angeline Dunhaver in about 1880. They had 3 children-Florence, Robert H. and Helen L. Since there was 20 years difference in the ages of Angeline and James, I wonder if he was previously married and had children of that marriage? I remember the name James Downing being mentioned as I grew-up, but I don't know the connection, if any. If anyone does look-ups in Venango County, please contact me. Sue Downing
