Bon(n)ett, a Man Who Had An Interesting and Unusually Varied Career. Richard S. Bonnett, a resident of this city and vicinity since the early 60s, died Saturday night at the family home, 5 1/2 Pearl Avenue, following a short illness from a complication of diseases. The deceased was born 67 years ago in England. His parents came to America when he was six months of age, locating in New York. When a young man he went to Michigan, engaging in the fishing business for a number of years. He moved to this section when the oil excitement broke out, locating at Reno, where he was married later to Miss Catherine Beighner, whose death occurred four years ago. For over 25 years Mr. Bonnett had been employed by the National Transit company as one of its field men. He moved from Reno to this city 15 years ago and for a number of terms represented the Third Ward in council, taking an active interest in municipal affairs. He was a man who enjoyed a wide acquaintance throughout this entire section of the oil country. He was a member of the Trinity M. E. Church for many years. The following sons and daughters survive: Mrs. C. E. Flynn, H. L., C. H., Guy T., Fred S. and Miss Mary Bonnett of Oil City; Mrs. D. Coleman of Franklin; J. W. Bonnett of Polk. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock, at the family home, the Rev. J. H. Clemens officiating. The interment was in Grove Hill cemetery.
