Lytle of Venango Co, PA in your searches? There is a William Lytle in 1840 census, Rockland Twp. Constantine W. E. Lytle is my great grandfather, born in Venango Co, PA in 1846. He died in Armstrong Co, Apollo, PA on 3/9/1898. I have not been able to find out his parents but was told he had at least one sister, maybe two, who used to write to him and his family. He served in the Civil War, and I have those records, but he seems to have fallen to earth in Venango Co. The family has said that they think the W in his name may stand for Wells, but that is not positive. I have searched for Constantine Wells, and found one in 1850 age 5 census in Venango Co, PA, but he was living with one John R. & Hannah Leslie, age 52 and 56 respectively. Any information that you may have picked up would be welcome. I will keep you in mind as a I search. I am in Johnstown, PA.

I haven't researched the Lytle name but I have a couple on my web page (below-under Lamberton) Robert Lamberton married Mary Harkness, she was the daughter of William Harkness and Priscilla Lytle.
