Taylor, 83, of 107 Crary Ave., Sheffield, a former Oil City resident and widow of Dr. C. Earl Taylor, died at 2:54 a.m. Sunday, March 19, 1980, following a 15 month illness. She was born in Greensburg Feb. 1, 1897, a daughter of James E. and Anna Dieffenbacher Gieffen. Mrs. Taylor had lived in Sheffield for the past 26 years, moving there from Oil City. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sheffield, The Order of Eastern Star, the Sheffield Home Builders, the Sheffield Garden Club, the Sheffield Women's Club and the Sheffield Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Taylor was married July 21, 1925 to Dr. C. Earl Taylor who preceded her in death in February 1968. She is survived by three sons, Dr. Charles Taylor Jr. of Columbia, Md., J.E. Gordon Taylor of Dayton, Ohio, and Dr. R. Craig Taylor of Oxford, Mich.; a daughter, Marjorie Taylor of Sheffield; and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister. Friends may call today in the Borden-Vincent Funeral Home in Sheffield where services will be held Tuesday afternoon. Interment will be in Emlenton.
