Alfred (Dutch) Brooks, 69, of Brookville, a retired accountant and former Emlenton resident, died at 3 a.m. Sat., Dec. 22, 1973, in the Brookville Hospital, following a long illness. Born April 7, 1904, at Sandy Lake, he was a son of H. E. and Mame Brooks. He graduated from Emlenton high school and later took additional courses in accounting. His wife, the former Helene Hastings of Philadelphia, PA survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Roland (Freda) Phillips of Oil City; three sons, C. B. Brooks of Brookville, Alfred of the Pittsburgh area and Daniel Brooks of Norwalk, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Richards of Harrisville and Mrs. Maurice T. Smith of Leesburg, FL, and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Criswell Funeral Home in Emlenton with Rev. Herbert Pennington, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Brookville officiating. Interment was in the Emlenton cemetery.
